Should CSS be jibbed?

I think it's a more look at me I scored 37 pts

I used to play at a relatively short par-68, SSS 66, course, and you had to score 40+ points to have any chance of winning or getting a handicap cut. On the other hand there are long difficult courses where 34 points is a good score. It's about making handicaps as equivalent as possible between clubs.

An example is my place Par is 71 and sss 72 of the Whites its never below the 72 and over most weeks , now take Carnoustie of the Whites Par is 72 and sss is 75 it very rarely is most weeks 76-78, now theres a lot of lads that play of plus handicaps down there but when they play other courses they struggle and if played on a course where the css was roughly what par was would play of 4-5.

That happens a lot though Steve, Royal Dornoch is the same, its a tough course even flat calm most of the time and Carnoustie likewise

No.
Golf is a reactive game - you battle the elements as well as the course and there is so many influential factors. The CSS is there to balance these out to fairly reflect your handicap.

How does CSS work in a competition played over 2 days? Imagine the first day is a gentle spring day, and the second has freezing temperatures and a gale blowing. Is there a CSS per day?

That's the way it should work...I guarantee there are Clubs that lump them all together for one CSS..

The approved software won't allow it. They could, if they wanted, enter all the cards with a single date, but why would they want to take the risk of fiddling.

Is it really a risk though..?
Is anyone really going to go through all the potential hassle of formal complaints...?
Especially when many don't actually know or care how it all works..

You clearly have had no experience of the kind of member who assiduously studies the CONGU manual and would take great delight in informing the County Union of any transgression. I have.
