Settle an argument

Do you class a 5 iron as.....

If you was to buy a set of irons then you would be sold a set that looked something like this:

2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,PW

So is that in the middle or not?

Maybe so, how ever I'd bet my right chuckle few on here will have hit a 2 iron so in MODERN terms which is where we play I'd suggest a 5 iron is a long

Modern sets have changed, there used to be 1&2 irons and PW and SW. Now most sets are 4-PW but people add gap wedge, lob wedge, approach wedge, sand wedge ....all in 2* gaps.

Pity they aren't skilled enough to use them :confused:

One of my go to clubs is a bladed 2 iron. Love it like a brother. And it really peeves me off that sets start at 4 iron as if they expect you to need a hybrid.
