Very surprised that a penalty was not given for the Barron handball. That would have been a certain pen last season.

Some talk that the criteria for a handball has changed over the summer. It will be interesting to see if this is indeed the case or if this was an ‘honest mistake’.
I think there won't be as many penalties this season. It was obviously stupid last season and I think everyone realises that. Obviously Rangers will still get more penalties for and less against, that rule hasn't changed. 😄

Is that you promoting a conspiracy theory on day 1?
Perhaps.........
The biggest cheer from the home crowd came around the 63rd minute when the Ref actually awarded a foul to Hearts. :)

Mind you only 5 mins of overtime on this occasion. Perhaps that was because Hearts seemed the most likely to score

We all know the facts when it comes to Rangers conceding penalties..

There has even been an academic study which highlights the bias.

Conclusion -

The analysis performed suggest that Rangers concede fewer penalties than other SPFL premier league clubs, and that this is a highly significant statistical result –the probability that this phenomenon occurs by chance is much less than 5%.It is also observed that this is not the case for Celtic –even though they dominate SPFL premier league matches in terms of essentially all statistical measures, including possession. The results support many anecdotal claims (e.g.Wallace 2023) that Rangers enjoy privileged treatment by referees and other SPFL match officials, and this formally raises questions about the reputation and integrity of the SPFL.

Have you seen the bibliography in that "analysis"?

Hearts v Rangers was a very clean, skillful and competitive game.

Four yellow cards issued, 3 to Hearts players, the Rowles and Devlin ones were questionable the one to Oyegoke was a total mystery.
One questionable penalty given in Rangers favour.

Cortes subbed after half time with a badly crushed ego. [after Taylor toasted him.]
