This is quite a bad rule of thumb in the English language generally. Do you sit down at the table each morning for BREAK-FAST? Perhaps discuss renewing your MORT-GAGE?sCONE because it litterally has the word cone in it.
I pronounce it to rhyme with 'gone' - I think - although I'm not that confident now.
I lather on the clotted cream first, and then just a spoonful of jam on top of that in the centre. But this probably just because I love the cream more, and find too much jam overpowering to the overall flavour, so this method works for me.
