And of course, near Perth, we also have to deal with “scoon” palace.

At last a proper thread.
Cherry scone. Not bothered how it’s said as long as it looks chunky.
Strawberry jam and clotted cream. Not bothered what’s on top or bottom.
One of the best scones Ave ever had in Dunster.
Warm cheese scone, cream cheese and onion chutney. Mug of tea to accompany all scones.

I always have Butter, it's too dry without it, obviously if you have butter you would not put cream on it then jam, so it's butter, jam and then cream. Now if you were making a scone sandwhich it would not matter but anything else you use cream for normally it is on top and even in a cake it is jam then cream.

Don’t particularly care the order of topping, and the @Jimaroid map places how I say it, but recently had the best had for ages with butter and home made chutney in the Edensor Tea Room…now that‘s a placename 😘

Scone as in gone.
Ideally - clotted cream with jam (Strawberry preferably, but raspberry is acceptable). Cream first for me. My missus puts the name on first.
Otherwise butter with jam.
We've found the fresh baked Scones from Morrisons Market Street are consistently scrummy.

If you have 2 scones, cut them in half and put the 2 bases together and the 2 tops together.
Then spread the jam and cream in any order you like because you won't know which way is up. (y)

I'm here all week
