Ryder Cup 2025 - All matters

I very much doubt that.
Rory will play where the money is 👍🏻

Plus he loves America
You might think he timed his partial moved to UK to be just before Bethpage. 😉
AW is right in so much Rory has stated he wants to play more opens. But don't think he'll cut back that much of PGAT, as you mention the courses he likes and the big $

He has already started to miss a number of the bigger events last season , believe he hasn’t any plans to play in any fall event instead going to India for the Open there and DP end of season and then next seasons starts in Aus as well

He may well love America but I suspect he's not that bothered by the money now unless they're paying silly quantities for appearance.
He's got shed loads of it and probably turned down some pretty big offers by LIV.

He’s definitely bothered about the money.
None of the top sports stars need more money, but they want it.

At the end of the day it’s all speculation and fan fantasy saying Rory won’t play much PGAT. He will be subject to a minimum of 15 events to maintain his card as per membership eligibility, unless they’ve given him special exemption as a veteran for winning over 20 events but even a quick google shows they haven’t.

That’ll obviously be made up of Majors and other co-sanctioned events. He may well play more out of the US but ultimately his wife is American, his kids are American he’s not going to just up and leave that’s pure fantasy.

He may play more national opens but he certainly isn’t walking away from the cash cow that is the PGAT that has put him where he is today and ultimately where near on all of his world ranking points will be earned.

The US is a big place as well, so even if his treatment left him angry, it probably wouldn't be with the entirety of the US who have generally treat him really well. Perhaps he may stay away from the New York area, but not the US in its entirety.

And the PGAT didnt turn on him either, it wasn't them swearing at him and throwing drinks at his wife.

It was a combination of poor planning (e.g. getting an MC, not realising she would start vulgar chants), the most hyped up golf event giving you rowdy crowdsand less than ideal methods to stop it quickly). You'd like to think lessons will be learned

Rory last season was very close to playing the bare minimum already , he missed a number of the signature events think standard events last season he played 8 or 9 , even missing one of the play off events and Memorial etc

His family have moved to the UK as a base now

He will still play on the PGAT but his schedule is changing every year , he doesn’t have to worry about ranking points and will still pick up enough to keep him going

He was talking last year about reducing his schedule and only playing the events he wants to and enjoys as well as playing in events around the world

No laying ups most recent podcast with Duncan Carey is an interesting listen. He’s been a data guy, analytics consultant for European team in the past. Basically going over where he thinks US went wrong from stats to picks etc etc

Kind of proves my point then he will still play the minimum required of him to maintain membership and world rankings!

I listened to that too, very interesting. I searched his name in podcasts and he’s been on a few more over the years too.
