Ryder Cup 2025 - All matters

I don't think 10:2 is a realistic prospect for USA so I will stick my neck out and say Europe will win.
I won't be paying too much attention to Europe getting to 14 points to halve the match and retain the cup - I want to see the match won.
Who is the likely player to get Europe to the 14-and-a-half points?
I would like it to be Rahm. That would be likely if the first 6 matches are 3:3. His style of displayed jubilation will be fairly gentlemanly, I imagine.
If that does not happen then Lowry would seem appropriate, in some way, perhaps. Probably quite a different reaction than Rahm - but I don't mind that.

Oh yes - and the golf - we mustn't forget that - I hope that is worth seeing.

I'm actually nervous the American team will get their act together and get some points on the board. We have some well played, tired lads going out there, who everyone expects to clean up.

Could end up boiling down to the less talked about lads going out a bit later.

Hope not, but it's at least a two or three hours into start time before we will see how it is likely to pan out.

I do think there’s a significant difference between the galleries here and those in the US. Even Billy Horschel has commented previously that British galleries, and probably by extension those across Europe, tend largely to be knowledgable golf fans. The same quite clearly cannot be said of the States - I think someone here said a day or so ago they are predominantly sports and beer fans, and I would suggest they cannot differentiate between ice hockey, gridiron and golf. They simply don’t get etiquette.

I’m not sure we will ever see European galleries stoop to what has been seen this week. If they were going to do that it would have long since happened. I just get the impression that, by and large, we would prefer to be seen to be rising above such moronic behaviour.
Yes but I have been on many a golf course in the US where drinking is part of the day out.
The amount of buggy crashes we have seen is scary.

The alcohol consumption on the course really shocked me .
So can’t imagine how much they put away when they are spectators not actually playing.

I remember one incident where at the end of the buggy path there’s a roundabout and you come back on yourself to your chosen tee.
The guy driving hit the roundabout and drove straight over a ravine about 30’ deep.😳
They got out laughing still holding their cans.

5 days ago insisted Europe to win but for it to be close to make it a great spectacle of golf.

Today I want them to go out there heads up and absolutely batter that the living “insert expletive “ out of the US team. The way the fans have been they deserve everything they get and Bradley defending that crowd I want him to go down in history as the weakest captain ever and for Luke at the closing ceremony to stand up and say “see money cannot buy what this team has achieved” and just walk off stage 👌

There’s no defending stupid!! All of the times I’ve worked with them over the years, they’re just dangerous and oblivious to things.

You can’t put a price on stupid.

A defence of the Yanks... Calling all of them 'bad' fans, forgets that the fans at Augusta National are usually jolly good chaps.

I think this is a Ryder Cup thing. I also think that the Irish fans will probably be better, but are we forgetting what happened recently at the Irish Open? Some of the fans were giving the bloke that was up against Rory unwarranted stick.

I'll be pleased when this is over. It's addictive but stressful. Even needing just a few points I'm sat feeling anxious, what if.......😬. Hopefully it's done nice and early and I can spend the rest of Sunday with our regular viewing of a gentle murder from somewhere around the world 😄
It is amazing how many tv shows have shown that you don't want to live in Cabot Cove, Oxford, etc etc.....

5 Live were aiming to present it as not a done deal.
Can Rose play as well for a 3rd day?
Fleetwood was 4-0 in Paris & was dubbed in the singles. Scheffler back playing individually, Rory drained and no partner to lean on. Cantlay solid. Schauffele & Spaun beat Rahm & Straka yesterday etc...

Nah, it'll be a breeze 😁😆😅
