Rory McIlroy

havent read all the replies but summary for this non story is....

Young lad splits from girlfriend and 'sees' other women.........

#nothing to see here, move along!

Except this removes one possible source of his 'recent' slump in form. And as the possible reasons for this slump are of interest to many golfer for that reason along their split is of 'some' interest.

I find some of these "would be" made excuses for him loosing form hilarious. Golf balls...., birds everywhere, curly hair, too much money, wrong clubs, moving to the US, management, not having marmite for breakfast..... come on... really is there any of us that actually believe its golf ball issues that's caused him to play like a complete chump?? This guy could hit rocks around a golf course and still skin most people!! His heads messed up pure and simple after having a few crap rounds he's lost interest and loads of confidence.... as it would for many 20 odd yr olds and as it does to all golfers including us.

The chap is human and used to be down to earth so you cant expect him to play at the top of his game all the time and its just been a complete right off as a season which he probably dumped long ago. It happens to all Pros's and equally you cant keep that type of talent down for too long, he'll be back but to blame it on a golf ball or some tennis chick is just fantasy and hysterical! Lets be honest he probably needs to get laid as much as possible (apparently it helps the swing!) and who could blame him... I dont expect he'd have got much if he was not famous...... maybe hes getting some referrals off Tiger? ;)

Difficult to know what the cause is but this would be my guess as well.

I also heard how someone had compared McIrloy with Woods. They said that when either of them are playing their 'A' game, they are pretty much unbeatable. But Woods can still win with his 'B' game. I thought that was very interesting.

We just don’t know, that’s the situation. Ball, putter, driver, irons, girlfriend, manager, sponsor.....you name it.

There's that many different things to Rory’s make up that we’ll never know the main button to press in order to resolve it or even start to.

I wish I'd got Rory's problems.

Here here

Im sat at work, looking out of the office at a dreary skyline, its raining heavily

I have two reports to send back to head office before 5pm ( so i shouldnt be on here really!)

And as i work in a school, i have kids screeching all over

haway Rory, lets swap places for a year

Just googled Nadia and all I can say is well done Rory ;)

Ya know the real bummer mate, there were also "ALLEGED RUMOURS" {disclaimer} it was Tiffany Stanley .. i know her ma and step dad i was hoping it would be her ha . i would have been on the phone asking can i call round for tea when they are down please

I agree, a reason would be, but no-one knows the reason and this schoolroom gossip has been going round and round for ages:rolleyes:

He will 'date' another burd:smirk: and that will also flame conjecture about his form.......

Why has no-one voiced the opinion that his 'slump' started a week after changing from cheerios to fruit loops? co-incidence?......I'll let the readers piece that one together.....

There is one blindingly obvious question no-one has yet asked....

If he has his hair cut he will loose all his power?

Going to be a busy boy in court i see lawsuit and counter law suit pending.

And reported as saying his problems this year all down to swing mechanics being out of position.

(*all copied from jock Howard on twitter)

He will have his new management working for him so it can't go wrong... what was it, his Dad and his Uncle - yup, looking forward to the counter excuses already!

During the H4H dinner, the topic of McIlroy came up and myself, Kraxx, Philthe Fragger and Bill Elliot had quite a lengthy talk about it. Well it was only quite lengthy due to Kraxx's answer, but that's another story.

Anyhoo, my reply was that he would get back to being world number one, I was asked if I really believed that and yes I do, Rory will be world number 1 again.

When asked why and what I thought were my reasons were, I said ( and there are probably a dozen other reasons but), he's been world number 1 before, he has the talent and skill to beat the best, but that was when he could go and play golf without distraction, but as a lot of young 20 somethings do, he made a few rash decisions, he split from his mgmt. team, he got a girlfriend and he signed a major new deal with Nike. The result being a lot of media attention, his head was not in the game and the pressure piled on.

Now the thing is, he has to believe in his own abilty and stop trying to look for excuses where there are none, but only he can do that, all the people in the world can tell him to go and be good, play well, he can take all the coaching from the best in the world, but if he doesn't believe in himself then it is game over.

Once he gets his head straight and only he can do this himself and realises that he can't have his cake and eat it, he will return to the player that won his majors and he will return to world number 1.
