Get a hair cut?
Murph, that was a bit tame and not very inventful!Get a hair cut?
I think that the RC is an aquired taste. Once he has played in one, he will want to be a part of the next one. Til you have done it, I bet you really have no idea how addictive it is. (unless, like us you dream of it, but have no chance of ever doing it).
Be interesting what his view is in 20 years time.
Tiger Woods could make the same statement, and all of the press would probably agree. They would be afraid not to. For fear of being called a racist.
RC always polarises opinion.
For the record I think Rory was spot on. He wants to win golf tournaments, not play in a bi-annual exhibition that excludes most of the worlds best golfers and was changed to suit Seve Ballesteros when UK and Ireland were beaten every match.
The RC is a great spectacle and does carry pressure but it is in the end an exhibition match.
I found this comment from Faldo Fan totally bizarre - "The Ryder Cup is an institution and is bigger then any individual golfer no matter how great they become (just ask Tiger."
If you did ask Tiger I reckon its obvious he couldn't give 2 hoots about the RC, it doesn't interest him in the slightest. For guys like Stenson it appears the same.
I would argue that Tiger is bigger than the Ryder Cup these days, he's bigger than anything in golf be that right or wrong.
Monty bangs on about it because he didn't win any tournaments of note on his own and his rather weak playing legacy hangs on it.![]()
Yes. That was my point. Many of the best players in the world CAN'T play in the RC! IMHO, that makes it a non-event.They'd have a job worrying about it seeing as they can never play in it.....that's like saying I worry about playing in the US Open.![]()

Rather weak plaiyng legacy??![]()
Not sure that I understand you there....either I am misunderstanding or you are just talking plain pish Birdieman.![]()
Agreed. But he could still win the Open.......maybe but the bigger fact is Monty WILL leave a huge legacy in the game despite never winning a Major.
