I might treat myself to some new headphones (I am not keen on in-ear doofers) which I can wear at the range and when at the gym (so ideally nothing too heavy)

Features I'd like are foldable, Bluetooth and with noise cancelling.

If you want best rather than cheapest, Sony 1000XM series are outstanding - best in class and do everything you want. They're up to XM6 now but a discounted older XM5 or een XM4 will still be brilliant. The noise cancellation (e.g. on flights) is so good it's like some sort of dark magic and sound quality is pretty close to hifi-geek specialist headphone levels.

I have the Sony ones I bought from Argos for £37. Best under £55 recommend by What Hifi. Sound is good.

I would not want to spend too much on in ear ones as they are so easy to lose.

Over ear ones sound best but I don’t want them when walking around.

I got some Edifier ones from Amazon for about £75 for the few times I commute to block the sounds of the morning train.

I find them excellent for both NC function and sound. Decent battery life too.
Nice little app to set EQ as well.

W803 I think is the model number. Built solid.

Edit: W830NB is the model.

The Sony 1000XM headphones are excellent - I can't fault them. Got them from Sony directly for about £150

I got some of these PowerLocus P6 in my Secret Santa gift this year - honestly, they're absolutely brilliant for the money. Wife has them on when she's having a kitchen dance night, buggerlugs did a 10k run with them on Tuesday.

Can't fault them as yet.

Another vote for Sony but if you want a bit cheaper model the WH-CH700N are pretty good and are about £75.
I've got these but I don't think that they are available any more. I get the feeling that the next model (CH710) won't be available for much longer either. Great cans though. Not sure that I would want to wear bulky cans while swinging a golf club.

Edit. CH720N is available for around £75 or less.
