My local range has recently bumped up their price to £3/50balls, so I was wondering how much you guys pay at your local range?
As a secondary question, of the 50, how many are chunked, usually about 2-4/50.

My local range is also £3 for 50,but better value for more balls. The range at the local course is £2.50 for 50.
But the ball quality at both is dire! 'chunked' some are almost split in half.

I use 3 different ranges, my local range is the cheapest at about £2.30 for 50 and they have al just been replaced for BRAND NEW ones. They are so hard though.

The most expensive range is where I get all my kit fitted and it like £4.00 for 50 but they are decent srixon balls.

£3.50 - 100 at AG, balls are usually in good nick

£2.50 - 60 at DG, good nick and seem to be replaced reasonably often

I dont use em much but when I do the one I used to go to was £1 a shot in the machine for 25 balls.

Another I went on was similar, but the one at the club Im about to join is at the moment, £1 for a rough lot of perhaps 50 if your lucky lol. I didnt pay but I think it was that price.

I have recently started using the driving range at Braywick Park on the way into Maidenhead. It is 45 balls for £3 and 75 balls for £5. However if you pay £30 to join (there are offers on gear etc plus money off the eaterie next door) this changes to 50 balls for £3 and 83? for £4.50. Members also get a happy hour until 1.00 every weekday which is 60 balls for £3 and 100 for £4.50.

The beauty of this range is that it has top notch mats, and the balls are all top quality Srixon range balls none of which I've ever seen with any imperfections. The fact that is only small (and family run) is that it doesn't get idiots (due to its hidden location) who just wnat to smack a bucket and spend their time making loads of noise and hitting the sides of the bays with every other shot.

The bays are heated and it is floodlit too. N1 golf have just moved in on the teaching side and there are good deals on lessons to be had. If you are in the area ask for Grant Swayer and tell them Marin Bedborough sent you via the forum.

As many of the regular forum members will testify I am a bit of a range junkie (especially at weekends in the winter) and having used all the others within a 10 mile radius of my house I have to say I think this will be a home from home in the coming months.

£2.50 for 50. Srixon balls, loads of bays (not heated up north Homer!!!) After a few swings I've warmed up anyway.
Many of the bays have auto tees, great for driving off.

Great range, I use it regularly.

Basher,

We don't have automated tees at this range which is the only downside. However I've perfected getting the ball onto the tees from the mat with my club so no need to bend down and it looks pretty flash to passers by too

Thanks for the info guys.

I have a feeling my local range is a little steep considering the balls are still the yellow things that dont fly anywhere. They don't do discounts for 100 i.e £6.

You also always have to ask for them to put the lights on which are rubbish anyway,so basically a ball hit half way down the length of the range you lose sight of it!

Think the priorities are wrong, the booth for lessons is space age but less concerned about the bread and butter stuff.

£2.50 for 50, £5 for 100. All good quality Srixon balls.
The range has just had power tees installed with new mats. Bays are unheated but are floodlit (25 bays).
You can also purchase a swipe card for the ball machine at £40 for 900 balls (£5 saving)50 balls per swipe)

2 ranges I use are both floodlit and covered. My club range prices are £2 for 50 balls, £3 for 80. the range further away is a little more expensive but they do have autotees and better mats. All the balls seem to be ok although there are quite a few scuffed/split ones.

2 levels, I was thinking about that the other day, what do you do to take your yardage, deduct 10 yards or somethin if you are on the top level?

I only ever concentrate on the strike, not distance so it does not matter. The main thing is I get a grand stand view of my shots, and it is quieter, as all the thrash merchants can't be bothered to climb the stairs. The range is also on a slope, so if you are downstairs it is like hitting into the side of a hill (not a big hill, more of a gentle affair, but enough to be annoying).
