£4 to £4.50 for a hundred is fairly typical around my way. They all tend to be that "Stolen From" brand only a few with splits etc but they all say if broken take back and we'll replace etc.

Never do though I'd feel a bit cheap going up with one split ball saying erm do you mind.......

My club operates a £10 a month credit system, in which you pay your tenner and you can have as many balls as you wish. Although if not on the system its £3 for 60 and £2 for 30.

I use Garforth range even though Oulton Hall is only a mile away. It's £3 for 40, £4 for 75 or £5 for 105. Balls are pretty decent quality, the mats are all automatic plus you can hit off the grass from about 6 bays. Oh, and it's about the longest range in the country at 400 yards.

After reading this it looks like I get proper ripped off at my range, I pay £5 for 60 ball £7 for 90!! And they are real crap balls. Have tried others in my area and they are all the same.

Mine is £2 for 45 (approx). I usually go for a double helping. It's been the same price for 10 years and will most likely go up shortly.
When I first came, I boycotted this range as I'd been used to paying £2.50 for 100.
I don't know what is a fair price, I guess under a fiver for 100 is ok. Personally, I like the ranges that appreciate there are some of us who occasionally like to hit 100 or even 200. Mostly, I do lots of drills, so 40 with 2 or 3 swings in between is 120-160 reps. But sometimes, I just like to hit balls, relieves stress and ingrains a "working" path and face.

I know there are some folks very critical of "brain-bypassed" hitting and the mats (of course) but I can only speak from experience. Two stories just to prove my point.

1) I was pulling and slicing for a period, so bad I went to the club and begged the pro to see me for 5 minutes. He suggested "forgetting" all the stuff we'd been working on and just going to the range and hitting "as many balls as possible" starting at a tree 40 yards right of target. I hit 300 that day (he threw in some free ones too) and went out the next day and shot a 75 for the club. The pulls only appeared on the last 2-3 holes, the rest was arrow straight or a tad drawn.

2) I was seemingly hitting it straight but getting all wonky with my alignment. I took two plastic pipes to the range and set up a "T" for 100 balls and then chose various targets without the "T" for the last 50. Out on the course the next day every time I set up to the ball and was uncomfortable I re-set myself and thought about the square feeling of having the "T"....worked a treat....I still use this quite regularly.

£2.50 for 50, £5 for 100. All good quality Srixon balls.
The range has just had power tees installed with new mats. Bays are unheated but are floodlit (25 bays).
You can also purchase a swipe card for the ball machine at £40 for 900 balls (£5 saving)50 balls per swipe)

By the sounds of this Russ, you use the same range as me (Euxton Park). This range was always busy but now they have installed power tees I usually have my choice of the 2 left handed bays.

Thats the one. I only wish they would do something with the landing areas, level it out, lay some decent turf or something. It is the only thing that lets the place down.
It couldnt get as bad as the one across the road. Even the owner told me it wasnt worth the price last time i went. Fun practice though with the cars to aim at.
