Random Irritations

That’s ridiculous. You want to essentially ration people based on what car they drive. Everyone has the right and should have equal opportunity to fuel regardless of what they drive.

If there actually was a shortage, I don’t believe there is beyond what social media is stoking, it should be limited to a certain amount for each person.

That’s very different from saying people with bigger cars shouldn’t be allowed any!

How do you make that judgement as to who get what. That’s also going to impact people’s jobs not everybody works within local commuting distance.

Who decides?
My sister works from home, I have to travel to work.
Does that mean I'd get more, if so, how much more and who would be the arbiter of that?

I’ve heard a few people say similar this week that they need to limit who has fuel. I don’t get how that would ever be deemed or how you’d decide who’s worthy. If fuel rationing became a thing I’d be screwed, I would have to make a choice of getting in trouble for not going to work or staying at work and not going home meaning I couldn’t see my wife. Plus I’d be unable to see my kids due to length of journey to pick them up.

Such over simplified views seem so logical to people that it wouldn’t have an effect on but to the rest of the working population that rely on needing a car for more than just domestic pleasure it simply doesn’t work.

I'll go back to a point I've made before, during COVID half the country was defined as a key worker. It started off as just a small group, emotionally chosen, and then bit by bit people realised how inter dependent we all are. No group are more special than others.

Anyway we don't have an issue, unless idiots create one. Oh heck, we're in trouble then 😱

It came a phrase people used to jump certain queues and gain extra special treatment. My wife had that dealing with motor insurance complaints, people who claimed to be "key workers" got priority over others who were more honest.

I was given 'Key Worker' status .......................... and I'm a gardener!
Okay, it's specifically for the elderly and I obviously had no 'Social Distancing' issues, but still.

I remember the fuel shortage in 1980. My company car was also the works pool car, the person using it on the day did not bother to fill the tank , despite us having preferential treatment at a local garage as we had an account, I ran out of fuel literally at the entrance to the garage.

I wasn’t classed as key worker we were told it’s been suggested we work from home. Kind of hard to do a military job at home 😂

Eventually we were drafted in as Vaccinators but still weren’t deemed as key workers 🤷🏼

For as long as I can remember, Tesco Paracetamol boxes have had a white end and a blue end...the leaflet you always get in every box is always, always at the blue end...open the white end and you can get them out without having to fight with a piece of paper that nobody reads...
Except, recently, there's been a batch that have reversed this.....and doing my head in 😫😫😫
Every day is a school day. I always open the wrong side first.
