Random Irritations

Switched on Radio 2 expecting the Sara Cox show for some uplifting music while I cook a curry. She’s not on tonight. It’s just religious pop music. ☹️

I've seen huge numbers of Kei cars here. I think they are so popular because they have significantly lower taxes, and you can buy one without having to prove you've got off street parking. AFAIK, a typical Kei car brand new is in the region of £12k. Nissan and Mitsubishi both make an EV Kei car for about £15k.

For sure they are peculiar dumpy looking things, but incredibly practical as city runabouts. I'm seriously thinking about looking into one when my current car needs replacing, although servicing and repair might be an issue in the UK.

Made me look up what a Kei car is

Don’t you just hate it when there’s an asterisk alongside the winners name in any competition?

Looks like that may well be the case at Augusta today.

Leaving my car fuel range down to 10 miles, pulling up to a Morrisons petrol station only to be confronted with a “no fuel” sign at the entrance. Luckily there’s another “more expensive” station around the corner but is this a sign of things to come? I can travel over 300 miles a day with work, fuel is a necessity for me 🤷🏻‍♂️

How about anyone with a gas guzzler that can’t manage 40 mpg doesn’t get to buy fuel at the moment?

Why is that? Obviously ambulances, trucks delivering essential services can get what they need. But, someone with a tank that gets 25mpg max can get the bus!
That’s ridiculous. You want to essentially ration people based on what car they drive. Everyone has the right and should have equal opportunity to fuel regardless of what they drive.
