Random Irritations

That the advantage of a petrol mower, you can jet wash the underneath.
Those Hyundai people think of everything. If you have got the one that I think that you have, there is a fitting on it that you plug a hose into and it washes the underside of the mower for you. The mower also comes with a cup holder

Tell me about it. Put Diesel in today £1.93L, was supermarket prices as well. Not normally that at motorway services where I am.
Eeek. We are unleaded but it's gone up again since yesterday and I'm sure it's gone up twice today. Went to nearest supermarket as needed to do shopping and the queues were ridiculous plus half the pumps out of order. As there were such big queues I can only assume the two other supermarkets are out of fuel.

It’s a joke way it’s going will be over £2 by the end of next week!

Can’t wait to put fuel in again on Monday to drive back up to work. At this rate won’t be worth me going home at weekends.

On holiday today with the grandsproggs in Ibiza. It’s been a long day. Up at 12.45 and am knackered. We’re now chillin and the kids are struggling to find a British tv channel.
“Come outta the way and let grandad Tash sort it”.
First channel that I find. Soddin Emmerdale 🤬🤬🤬
Am Goin to sleep, Ibiza is rammel

How much does it cost to buy the actual car? How is it taxed?

I seem to remember it's expensive to own and older cars are punished severely. I think there is a bigger picture with this one
I've seen huge numbers of Kei cars here. I think they are so popular because they have significantly lower taxes, and you can buy one without having to prove you've got off street parking. AFAIK, a typical Kei car brand new is in the region of £12k. Nissan and Mitsubishi both make an EV Kei car for about £15k.

For sure they are peculiar dumpy looking things, but incredibly practical as city runabouts. I'm seriously thinking about looking into one when my current car needs replacing, although servicing and repair might be an issue in the UK.

Problem is fuel is only a snap shot of the rip off Britain narrative. When taken solely as a snapshot it doesn’t see a bad. But its overall cost living people are struggling with not just prices at the pump.
And the other big issue is that the official inflation figures are based on a "basket of stuff" that includes all manner of unnecessary items. If they limited it to essentials like food, fuel, utilities, mortgage/rent then the inflation figures would be much higher.

Not sure where to post this as it is an oddity rather than an irritation. Just noticed that Chennai Superkings in the IPL are sponsored (on their shirt sleeves) by British Empire. Not sure what it represents just seems strange.
