Random Irritations

We have chickens, no problem, they only make a commotion if Mr Fox comes a visiting, then they kick off big time. But not very often.

Next door neighbours also have chickens, but they’ve also got a rooster,
It’s big and it’s loud, not really a problem at 6:30 am as I’m mostly up.

But in the summer at 4:30, it’s going to be an issue, not really for me as I’m an early bird, but my good lady and other neighbours will be really hacked off.

Might have to have a word

We had some roadworks on our road, allegedly from Tuesday to Thursday of last week.
Originally there were supposed to be traffic lights - it's not a busy road so it wouldn't have been much of an inconvenience.
When the work started, Thames Water , they closed the road...seemed a bit excessive but....
So, being a helpfully minded chap, I updated Google Maps with the closure....they responded with OK but we have to verify.....seemed fair....
They marked the road as "possible road closure"..thought nothing more of it
Accidentally opened Maps on Friday evening.....Road Closed Permanently....
Looked out of the window and the closure was gone....the works did over run to Fraday pm
Updated Maps
Still showing as Permanently closed.
Not sure I'll bother again....

One of the lads I play with, during a round, gets out a tupperware container of nuts, seeds and raisins and offers them around.
Another opens up a container of his wife's banana bread or bara brith and does the same.
Guess which one gets ignored.
