Random Irritations

I’m hoping she is on the wind up.
Jack and Jim have both been mentioned which I’m happy with.
I like traditional names but apparently I’m a dinosaur .

And her first has a double barrel surname so I’m guessing he will too.

Don’t get me started on that rubbish
I was having this rant with my cousin a few months ago. I mentioned the inevitability of a double barrel next becoming a triple barrel. He started to laugh and said he actually knows someone who is a quadruple barrelled, 2 double barrelers getting together

Spoke with Sky earlier and they offered me a slight reduction in my monthly costs for the same package - all good so far. They say the deal includes a puck so we can watch Sky on another TV. I said there is no need to send this as we don't have another TV. They said that I can only have the deal if I have a puck. I said I don't need one. Then you can't have the deal. Ok, just waste some money and send me the puck and I will put it straight in a drawer and forget about it. What happened to common sense?
Common sense? That checked out years ago

It’s bloody mental isn’t it! I’m old fashioned and believe everyone has the one family name not a combined name.

I used work with a lad that has both a double barrelled fist name and double barrelled surname. I got in trouble when I asked did his parents not like him and want him to be bullied as a child 😂

I never learned my lesson though as I now work with a driver that also has a double barrelled surname, when he first joined our unit I took him round to meet everyone and introduced him as “Two Dads”. He now gets called it all the time to the point half the people we work with don’t know his actual name 😂

When my daughter got married her and her husband agreed to have a double barrel name rather than taking his.
I told her that 100 years ago she would of sounded like royalty now she sounds like a reject from an American reality show

Different daughter I’m afraid.
Having 2 girls both pregnant with different sexes is really giving my bank balance a going over 🤣
Hmm I see your point and struggle🤔

Only other weapon you have left write her out of the will 😂

End of the day I’m sure it’ll be a lovely
Wee nipper Does the name matter as long as he turns out to be a happy little fella.

To be fair I’m sure nearer the time she will change her mind again.
I call the one she got now Bob even though it’s not his name. ( as in thingymebob).
If I don’t like the next one’s name I’ll just invent my own again 🤣

In the village where my wife grew up there was a family with the surname Lane.
The husband was know to all as Shady and his two lads were know as Dusty and Bronco. No-one ever used their birth names.

I admire everyone's restraint in not suggesting the obvious response 👍

I've seen this recently with someone from my old Sunday football team as well.

My own wife never really specified so now she uses three different names at all different times. Sometimes she uses her maiden name, sometimes my surname, and sometimes both. Just whatever takes her fancy on the day I think.

Crikey! How does she prove who she is? 3 separate IDs? :ROFLMAO:

🤷🏻‍♂️
The thing is, we never know how name changes work and we never researched it either. We thought there would be some sort of paperwork you have to fill in for it - but then she was told by somebody that your name just automatically changes without you having to do anything, as long as you're taking the traditional option (wife takes husband's name). We still don't really know for sure, so she just uses whatever she feels like.

I’m confused what did you both sign on the marriage certificate!

How the hell does she renew a passport or driving licence if she’s not using her legal name! But instead just picked a new one each day 😂

This is another factor - she said she just used her normal signature (i.e. maiden name) because she didn't know any different. I mean, that was her signature so just signed it without thinking. Nobody told her to sign it with her new surname or anything.

Well we're not even sure what the legal name is? I think her official documents all still have her maiden name. It's confusing and nobody ever made it clear to her/us what you're supposed to do.

Allow me to. She has to choose which name to go by if she chooses to keep her maiden name nothing changes everything just stays as it is and that’s it. If she chooses to take your married name she has to send off a copy of your marriage certificate as proof for renewal of things like driving licence, passport (basically any legal ID documents) to change things like banking etc sending proof of marriage is usually enough. But ultimately she has to make a choice at some point for the legal documents to be sorted and also schools etc what does she register herself as with the wee ones school that’s probably the name to go with to keep it simple. Suprised you never goggled it 😂

What is on her passport, her driving licence, her NI / tax with the government? They are the ones that matter. Anything else is largely fluff but those need to be consistent.
