Well after a couple of months of work, I’m thinking I better start looking for a job![]()
We did this over the gap between Christmas and new year. Cleared out pretty much nearly 1.5 wardrobes worth of space. Some went to charity, some in the bin and others like you new with tags never worn went on Mrs M’s Vinted page in 2 days we made over £200 it’s ridiculous to think that amount was just sat there unworn. We’ve said now every 6months we’re having a cull and selling what hasn’t been or doesn’t get worn. After my recent retirement I took all my serviceable work clothes to the charity shop.
MrsA instantly claimed the extra wardrobe space for herself but I asked that she weed out anything unworn in 2 years for me to give away.
She did.
The amount of clothing that's hardly or never been worn is eye-watering. Loads had still got tags on.
Good job I've recently discovered Vinted.
Seriously though, I can't think of any item of clothing I've owned that hasn't been worn until destruction.
My plumbing skills are sadly limited to opening the valve to add more water into the central heating system and errm, that's itNo hot water from the shower in sons en suite.
Hot water everywhere else in the house.
He says he has tried stuff but going to wait till he gets home to find out what stuff is before I have a go at it.
Might have to see how much Lord T charges as his plumbing skills seem very adequate going by recent posts. Might even get the snow shovelled off the drive if I’m lucky![]()
I’m hoping when I turn the hot tap it works. My plumbing skills are sadly limited to opening the valve to add more water into the central heating system and errm, that's it.
Luckily, I believe there are some people on here who do actually know their stuff.

Just to confirm...I wasn't wrong.....11.30 and it's really shaping up to be "one of those" days.........
Might just call it quits and go back to bed..then again, something will go wrong with that too....
Ive always said that i leave plumbing, electrics and gas to the experts.I’m hoping when I turn the hot tap it works.
I’ll then tell him the left Falange is broken but I fixed it and be the hero![]()
Tell him you can fix it if he pops down to Screwfix to get a new foofoo valve and a glass hammer.I’m hoping when I turn the hot tap it works.

We’ve sprung a leak from the wall mounted bath/shower mixer tap. The mixer is def corroded/holed but until its removed I cant tell if the pipe work behind is still sound, if not it’ll mean making a hole in wall to repair. Reluctant to do it fearing the worst but it cant stay as is![]()
It does seem that modern clothes shrink a lot more than before in the wardrobeI have bought a few pairs of trousers in the end of summer sales that I could not get in to the following summer.
Why call a plumber out to replace a toilet seat?Ive always said that i leave plumbing, electrics and gas to the experts.
But at the weekend i was really pleased with my plumbing efforts.
The soft close toilet seat in the en suite was broken. Its about 20 years old so i searched the internet for soft close toilet seat spares. Eventually i found what i thought were exactly what i needed. Despite the blurb stating that this item was regularly returned for wrong size etc.
Anyway, i fitted them and it works perfectly. They cost £30, not cheap but better than a call out charge from the local plumber.![]()
My daughter has ordered one that comes with all the bits and sounds very similar to yours.Ours cost about a grand, but that was including a bassinet, a normal seat, and the carseat that comes with it since you can clip that onto the pram as well. Not cheap but we still use that pram with the normal seat attached so it has lasted three years and counting.
