Random Irritations

After a bit of a trial I was able,e to renew the RAC cover on the Limo....
Today, the RAC kindly sent me a voucher to get a free MOT at one of their approved garages...
Excellent I thought...
Then I realised...
A...all the garages they list I wouldn't take Orkoru's knackered CashCow to let alone my motor...they're all rejects from Bonanza and The Virginian..
B....The voucher expires 2 months before the 1st MOT is due....

So....thanks for nothing...

I’m in the gym so this is from memory. Top right hand corner I think there’s a settings icon same place you connect it to WiFi and then find factory defaults.
Don't worry I found it and it worked 👍

Imagine a meme where a Victorian gentleman takes off his top hat and bows to you in gratitude 😂. Better than buying a new TV 😊

Gatwick have increased their drop off fee from £7 to £10 from yesterday.
From Monday London City Airport will be £8 where before it was free.
It’s just a licence to print money
They even have the audacity to explain it away with the rationale of it being in order to help achieve their net zero target.

Luckily our next two trips are from Heathrow and Birmingham where the car parking charges are significantly less than half the comparable Bristol ones.

I'm convinced that people who are almost always late are control freaks.
Everyone must wait for them, it's a control thing.

It’s a lack of respect. A lot of years ago I was doing annual employee appraisals. One of the engineers turned up 40 mins late. At the end of the appraisal I said “ I have one final question. Would you have been 40 mins late for the MD?”

Without wanting to blame the youths, I think a lot of the bad time keeping has crept in with mobile phones. It doesn’t seem to matter to some people if they are late as they can just call ahead and make their excuses. Before mobiles, you had to make the effort to be on time or you missed whoever/whatever you were supposed to be meeting.
Once upon a time long, long ago (well about 2006) I worked with a Change Manager who was a stickler for time keeping. She was very busy and if you didn't join a 1-1 conference call with her within 6 minutes (she choose 6 minutes for her own reasons) of the start time she ended the call. If I was going to be a little late for any reason I had to tell her in advance when I'd be able to join. If not...no meeting and a black mark. She was supremely good at her job so rarely, if ever, got any push back - and never got any from me.

It's all about respect.

Sad to say that I am one of those people who used to late for virtually everything except for the really important stuff like doctors and hospital appointments, runs in the family my daughter is like that too.

Luckily when it came to my last two jobs. Job 1. I was in charge so did what I liked, I often worked at home to get certain jobs done before going in Job 2. Did not have real times to work to but never kept a client waiting.

Films that are over 2 hours long when a lot of the stuff is just filler.
Started to watch Avatar The Way of Water last night and gave up on it.
Watching the Black Widow today and stopped to watch something else for a while.
