Random Irritations

Tesco. rampant profiteering.

was the other side of town on Friday so decided to just pop into Asda and get a couple of things.

San Pellegrino small 500ML was a full £1.55 cheaper
the large bottles, almost £2 cheaper
Sugarly sweetener. Asda price £2.85, Tesco £4.50
Radox mens 750ml seafoam Asda £1.65. Tesco £2.
Nutella Ice cream Asda £4.50 Tesco £5.50.

i strongly doubt Asda gets things cheaper than tesco.

What about the sprouts?

Green bin collection going up to £55.
That's interesting....ours is actually being reduced from £45 to £30 as part of the nationwide changes to recycling and waste collection. This is apparently an attempt to encourage more to recycle garden waste, it will still be collected fortnightly (although there are changes to other recycling & waste collection frequencies).

Not going to be a nice week in hospitals this week with the flu epidemic and junior docs going on strike

Winter flu has always been with us and is a seasonal trend that’s expected. It’s the sudden, unexpected blips that ramp things up. I remember a Legionaire’s outbreak at Barrow-in-Furness, and a Saturday dash to borrow intensive care ventilators from Manchester, then commission them onto site. I don’t remember the annual flu spikes.
