Random Irritations

Mother has never had sky, but when her VHS recorder packed up three weeks ago.it was the end of the world. The thought of not being able to see tape emmerdale was unbearable.
Manhattan T4 free view box was our saviour. šŸ‘
I wasted a Christmas present once. My MIL was an avid Inspector Morse viewer so I bought the complete set on VHS only to find she had got rid of the tape player.

The manhattan T4 free view box is a thing of beauty. Me mothers eyes lit up when I told her it was Ā£170. I asked her how much her VHS recorder cost. Ā£450, she had forgot that.ā€ But it’s so smallā€ she said pointing to the box 😳

Traffic reports (yes LBC, I'm talking about you but other stations are available and just as bad).

"There are delays on the A xx due to an accident that occurred earlier". Well it wouldn't be due to one that might happen later, would it?:rolleyes:

Numpties. Wonder who writes their scripts.

My gripe is that they call them accidents....probably less than 5% are actual accidents..ie unavoidable , mechanical failure or driver being ill etc..
The rest are crashes or collisions....caused by idiots.

When I got rid of Sky initially I just put a HD in the USB socket on the TV but realised I could only record or watch one channel at a time

I then managed to pick up a twin tuner Freesat HD recorder S/H for £20.

I had looked at the T4 but baulked a bit at the cost Putting in to perspective with older prices my 32" Sony CRT TV cost me £1000 my last 32" TV cost me £89.

The T4 appears to only be able to record two channels at a time.
Assuming it's Linux based (pretty much all PVRs are), then why?
LinuxTV multirec for DVB-T has been around for donkeys years. There's really no excuse.
