Random Irritations

Sounds like you had one of the more serviceable ones 😂

I would always get worried when the rattling stopped

the best time was when they chartered planes back from the gulf - last time back from Kuwait ( Herc from Basra first ) it was a 747 - all the RAF guys upstairs in first class 😂
I am somewhat reluctant to admit I once worked for McDonnell Douglas.
The less said about the DC9 and DC10 the better.
At least the Tristar's doors didn't fall off.

Got that with a few campaign bars, but unfortunately also got its sister medal, ‘Rent-a-Tent’ again with a couple of campaign bars. Many years with Harrier.

This post does have Golf content as on one exercise in Vandel, Denmark, we managed to hide the clubs into the load and snuck off for a round. Just remembered Incirlik and Gioa del Col, both ops included rounds of golf.

A pigeon flying into the patio doors and leaving a transfer of itself in flight on the glass the day after the window cleaner visited.
Although I'm guessing the pigeon was more irritated.

To be fair the last thing that went through its mind was probably its Arse as it compressed itself against the glass. That would definitely be irritating 🤣

I had that when one flew into my windscreen while I was doing 60 in the opposite direction. Perfect splayed impact transfer in pigeon grease right in the middle. Was lucky it didn’t break the glass.

Was a but tough to remove as well.

Companies upselling on everything.

The cheap deal we got at a hotel has actually cost me an extra £113.00 for various extras, including £15 a day to park.

Just been in build a bear they tried to upsell on 10 different things.

Bought the wife some trainers tried to sell anti water spray to me and a cleaning cloth.

It’s doing my nut in, it’s everywhere

B&Q ! Their website is pretty pants generally, but recently ordered 2 rolls of wallpaper for home delivery that were not in the local store. The total price for 2 meant "free delivery".

Having spent some time with customer services, it seems this played out:- The order isn't handled centrally, it is routed to store. Not to the store 20 miles away with 6 rolls in stock - oh no, instead to a store 70 miles away with only 1 roll in stock. Instead of "pushing back" that store fulfilled just the one roll, and added a £6 delivery charge (all without asking of course). Some serious incompetence here.

Can they send us the 2nd roll, "no you have to re-order the single roll". But that will mean an additional £12 in delivery charges in total. "not my problem".

Escalated now. Can see myself jumping in the motor and going to the other store :(

Had a nasty hot oil splash whilst cooking tonight. Hand straight under the cold tap for 20 minutes. Thought I managed to get the heat out quickly enough but it’s not great. Just smothered it in aloe vera, hoping to take the itching out of it…

Planning a big holiday next year. Booked it last week, only to find out some information at the weekend that would severely impact the last leg of the trip.

Discussed options with Trailfinders yesterday, who quoted an additional £200 to make a potentially suitable change. Talked it over with the missus last night. Called them this morning to confirm, the additional cost is now £760. I queried the increase, was told it’s due to “fluctuations”. Strongly suspect the real reason is either human error or naked profiteering.

Black Friday. I don't need anything but there's that many adverts about I feel like I'm missing out.
Having spent hours at the shops yesterday you are definitely not missing out.

We had a set list of things to buy and waited deliberately for the Black Friday deals to see what we could get them for.

Every single shop just spent the entire time trying to push more onto us despite me telling them I’m just here to buy a certain item.

I even had to walk out of some shops and let the wife deal with it.

One shop was so bad even she who is a shopaholic told them to stop everything and said we will go elsewhere for what we came in for and walked out without making a purchase even though they had put stuff behind the counter for us.

I think we had about £500 we were going to spend and was just looking at other bits when she snapped and says to me come on we are leaving and walked out.

It’s funny how we look at things differently I reckon I spent about 2 grand yesterday and she reckons we saved about £400. 😂😂

If double glazed watch our for condensation between the panes of glass, take a photo in case you need to do an insurance claim.

So far I have had 3 dead pigeons in the garden who have done this. They attack the reflection of themselves they see in the glass thinking it is another pigeon.
