Random Irritations

Think I’ve perhaps mentioned this one before but it still boils my wee.

The sheer number of selfish people who sit in an aisle seat on a busy train or bus, in a clear attempt to avoid having to sit next to someone.

I could happily string them up.
Why doesn't the ticket inspector TELL (I was going to put ask), them to bluddy shift over and MOVE THAT BLUDDY CRAP OFF THE OTHER SEAT?

Only half listened to this but felt sorry for the lady who threw the left overs of her coffee down the drain when she was going on the bus so as not to spill any.

The next minutes she was stopped by 3 enforcement officers and hd a £150 fine imposed.

No idea what would have happened if she had thrown the coffee on the floor.
Only half heard the story but seems harsh
Seems due to the publicity the fine has been cancelled

Your parents ask you to do things and they tell you to do things.
Then you go to school and it is the same story.
Then you get a job and are told to do X, Y and Z. "And if you don't want to do it, resign and get a different job!"

But if you join the army, navy or air force.... er sorry, I can't see a significant difference. It is a job with duties and responsibilities like many other jobs.

Go self catering. Eat out, cook yourself. Don't eat from buffets (y)
Especially the cook yourself bit. We find that we cook better than eating out. With the excption of the Michelin resteraunt
Devils advocate, what if it’s made law to have one?
Sorry to stop this but wasn
t it announced that it would be brought in in 2028 or something? Do you think.... polish itical, etc etc

It would not be anything as blunt as a law to make it compulsory, it will just be made vital for every element of your life, a few examples… accessing healthcare, pensions, any banking services will all require digital ID, as a director of a company I need it to file our returns at company house, if we don’t file returns we cannot continue as a business. It will become impossible to function within a few years without a digital ID.
You overlook that as a business, director or person of significant interest you will have to do a digital registration before your companies next submission.
This includes photo recognition.
After the billions lost to covid loans from new businesses that then disappeared thete was always going to be changes

Dental hygienist, stabbing my gums with a sharp pointy thing and saying "see, your gums are not healthy because they're bleeding." Yeah, no :poop: they're bleeding when you stab them with a sharp pointy thing!

Unless, of course, they’re not actually supposed to bleed when stabbed with the sharp pointy thing!

Fly season…

Twice a year we see temperatures that flies and mossies thrive in. This last week has seen that time. Today, whilst having my sausage sandwich I had to cover it with a serviette between bites.

Hate to tell you but the “pointy thing” isn’t pointy or sharp at all, it actually has a little round ball at the end. Probing with that doesn’t cause a healthy gum to bleed at all, nor does it hurt. If your gums bleed on probing and the sensation is sharp or stabbing then that’s a clear sign of gum inflammation, which is the precursor warning sign to gum disease (which is basically a destructive inflammatory reaction where your own body destroys the gums around your teeth as its not-very-helpful long-term response to bacteria sitting on the teeth and the toxins produced by those bacteria).

Gum inflammation is reversible but gum disease/destruction is not - any gum (and the bone underneath) lost to gum disease is gone forever. That’s exactly why your hygienist is carefully looking for areas of inflammation then trying to get you to worry about them and address them together now. This is an uphill battle for them (your reaction is a fairly typical one) because they are trying to address something before it becomes a problem, and at a stage where it can be resolved completely, while human nature is to not worry about something until there is a pretty obvious problem; but waiting to that point would mean it could not be resolved completely and there would be long-term irreversible damage.
