Joking apart, the flag on the 18th over here is the Spanish flag. It’s custom & practice that it’s never laid on the ground after it’s been taken out. It’s passed from one player to the next… OMG! Now there’s one for the flag in, flag out brigade…

If they flew it on St George’s Day, VE Day, VJ Day, Remembrance Day, etc as well I would think they were being patriotic. With things like they are in the media at the moment, I suspect with some there are different motives
