Random Irritations

It looks like getting a dog definitely isn’t happening. My daughter brought her Cockapoo round as a test to see how our cat would react, the answer is not great. He started hissing as soon as he saw the dog and then launched himself at her in a full length dive that involved catapulting off a table 😳
Luckily the dog didn’t get hurt but I got a battle scar on my leg trying to keep the cat away.
It took a good 10 minutes for the cat to calm down, poor thing 🤣

At least you did the test and you know where you stand (y). Plenty just pile on in and then get left with a messy, and expensive, error.

The “ I can do your job mob” … who swiftly follow with “ you need to train me …”
So I gave him a reading list 🤣

There are maybe better ways to introduce animals but your cat does sound crazy. 🤣

I’ve never seen him react like that before, I know he’s the top cat on the street, proper alpha male, but I never had him down as a dog killer 🤣
We have 2 cats and we wouldn't dream of trying to introduce a dog into the house - a bit like yours, one of the cats is a thug, so would just try & beat the dog up (would make a change of duffing up HIDs though) and the other cat is such a baby that he would hide & not come out again

Walked past one of greens staff, around 1:00pm, at the golf club just as he was strimming the grass bank. I guess he disturbed a wasp’s nest. Think I’ve been stung in 4 places on my leg. It smarts a bit but it’s starting to swell too. Took some antihistamine.

Not a great morning either. Split my thumb nail length ways, about a 1/4 inch then pealed one side of it back. The white parasol I was putting up looks quite colourful.

As a life long habitual nail biter, when you have (bitten them in my case) and exposed the bed underneath, dipping the finger in a hot cup of tea will help. Not fresh out the kettle hot, but drinkable hot (I have an asbestos mouth BTW). It will hurt, but after a second dipping it will seal the exposed nail bed and stimulate growth as well as helping to massively reduce the pain you will get from it without doing it.
Do all the fingers on the hand with the damaged nail so you know whats coming.:)
I confess I probably do the hot tea finger dipping at least once a week.

How on earth did you find that out??? 🤔

My daughter has a cockapoo. When she first got him as a small puppy, she brought him to our house and presented him to our cat. The cat hissed. She ignored the warning and made the mistake of thrusting the puppy towards the cat's face, and the result was a swift swipe of claws across puppy's nose.

Since then, said cockapoo has grown into a fairly well behaved dog - except wherever he sees a cat he loses his s**t and goes absolutely ballistic.
