Random Irritations

Never noticed that myself. In the 5 lane freeway around LA, I was just happy to survive my journey. 🫣
Some of the driving around LA, particularly at night, is not for the faint hearted - I was driving, HID's pretty much just shut her eyes (luckily, she didn't do any of the driving ;))

Pigeons on the Sky Dish 🤬🤬🤬
They normally sit on the bar going from the LNB to the mounting bracket. On mine it is very close to the boiler flue so probably looking for warmth. My solution was to glue tees along the length of the bar. You can buy a specific spike bar to do the job. Just make sure of th spikes are in the line of sight between the LNB and the dish.

Steering on the car was really weird this morning - halfway to my destination and realised the garage had turned on the lane assist . Terrible thing to have on in the country lanes as it follows the bits of road that have had drains, cables etc laid and tries to move you to the wrong side of the road.

Does it not turn on every time you start the car? I haven't heard of one that you can permanently disable. Most, you have to do it each journey.

You can permanently switch it off in a Toyota.
A Nissan dealer told me you can do so on a Nissan, too.
Sounds as if the Japanese have seen sense.

A friend has a BMW and told me that you can do it on that.

My wife briefly had a Hyundai i30 and not only did it turn on every time, you had to hold a button in for 5 seconds to switch it off. Bloody irritating. Just one of several irritating things that made her get rid after 6 months.

My understanding is that having the car turn it on every time is something to do with getting a higher NCAP safety rating.

You have to actually turn it on in my Fiesta, thank goodness.

Can't turn off permanently on the Kia but the button is on the steering wheel, press and hold for 5 seconds and it's off. Its become second nature

I don't think there are any opinions you are not allowed.
There may be a few that society deems so offensive in expression that expressing them is subject to the law.
It was more to do with "Your opinion is different to mine therefore it's wrong and you must change it to agree with me or I'll get very upset and angry"

I didn't change an he got angry, which was very amusing to see a 57 year old man have a temper tantrum

It is has a switch which can be on or off. It has an indicator light for the current state but you have to bend over to see it.

I would like a few more switches for turning off auto functions:)
