They tried to do this in Scotland for rape trials but the idea was rejected.Labour are on about getting rid of jury trials in many cases to speed things up, which will be a disaster for justice.

I'm laughing at your naivety.I'm assuming you're laughing due to not understanding the meaning of 'irrefutable proof'.
I'm laughing at your naivety.
I wore out the fast forward button on my remote as a result of skipping through the ads on recorded stuff. Luckily it was replace FoC by Sky.My mute button is worn and shiny.
I always find it strange when I'm at someone's house and they leave the sound on during the adverts. Very disconcerting.
One irritation easily avoided.
Cost.Would electricity cables go underground? They must do something to mitigate against the winds.
The DVLA are still posting out cheques![]()
Do they not require payment by cheque as well?
My recent licence renewal seemed to have that requirement. (Luckily they sent me a renewal notice to say that I did not need to pay before I posted the letter) (Online it said I needed a new photo which requires a postal application).
Huh? Last I heard, the cost of the new Hinkley Point nuclear reactors is in excess of £40billion. And they're quibbling about the cost of burying some cables? The new Hinkley generator is going in not far from here and they are also going to upgrade the overhead power lines, loads of locals want them moved underground but it has been turned down based upon cost.
I'm laughing at your naivety.
Ooh, please explain, I'm obviously a simple soul.
I'm pretty sure the engineer knew that........Fitting and tensioning the new belt could have caused the already worn bearings to totally fail, then again you can feel if bearings are on their way out so I'm surprised it wasn't spotted at the time.
I didn't think you'd answer my question, after all, you just couldn't.![]()
This is all a bit childish. Time to move on folks. You love the death penalty and also think you're clever, I mean what else is there to say.
Any more of your lip and I’ll take your phone off you.Sorry mum![]()
You love the death penalty and also think you're clever, I mean what else is there to say.
Start with falsifiable and spend some understanding it's meaning.
Yes irrefutable it is untill it isn't, if you can't grasp that then I don't know what else to say.I'd love the death penalty, but ONLY in the right circumstances, as I've said before.
Of course I know what 'falsifiable' means, but you've only just brought that up.
How about you try the word 'irrefutible', a word that's at the heart of this conversation.
Sorry KenL, just seen your post #54,294.
I'm not saying use it as a deterrant, just get people like him off the planet.Taking the emotion out the subject (which is so hard as the case just made me want to hug my kids) our friends in the good old US of A have proved it doesn't put people off being disgusting killers
It costs more to sentence them to death than to imprison them for life (48% more in some states) the trials take even longer putting the families through more
The person then then isn't even .. you know for years .. sometimes decades.
Prison is a far harsher reality to these monsters than what giving them the easy way out.
