Random Irritations

Makes no difference my man the suppressor (silencer) won’t muffle the supersonic “crack” of the round passing through the air, all It would do is muffle the immediate retort sound of the rifle. But at 600m the average person wouldn’t know what that noise is or be perceptible enough to know it’s a shot being fired.

It would also change the point of aim and without re-zeroing the rifle could hugely affect shot accuracy and fall of the round, especially if having to aim off half a target wide for wind speed and direction. Though it would reduce muzzle flash and recoil, it would also increase velocity of the round due to extending the barrel length so that’s a plus and a quicker way of dropping the target and delay the muzzle retort.. 🤔

I need a quiet word with myself I know to much about these things 😂
Just use a Barrett, or GPMG... ;)

Is this not classified? 😜😂
No basic shooting is available to anyone. Plenty of open ranges for civilians to use and practice at if they have the license. I’d highly recommend Bisley, really good target and competition range there for all calibres of rifle and varied distances. It’s actually a really Good day out for those with no experience!

Barrett .50 cal would make a hell of a mess at that distance you’d remove a limb or put a hole so big in them it’d cause some serious collateral damage just as it exits and penetrates others behind due to the high power round plus it’d be bloody
Loud at that range!

GPMG is a fun to play with but it’s a scatter gun approach as an area weapon and we don’t want to harm anyone one else, we’re not American 😂

;) My brother always preferred the SLR 7.62 over most. He did rather enjoy the GPMG though ;)

My contract with BT is actually up, so I may take a look at them. Heard good reports.
We had BT and was the worst provider we’ve ever had. Constant speed issues, could never resolve anything and spent more time complaining that I did actually being able to get online. We moved from there to Virgin and frankly they weren’t much better, kept blaming BT and Open Reach for the poor coverage and copper lines.

In the end we moved to TalkTalk and have now been with them for quite a while never had any issues with speed, drop outs of service etc. sometimes the smaller providers are definitely better.

Virgin blaming BT copper? Virgin broadband is fibre, and has been even from the days of Blueyonder :)

Problem with the SLR though is it’s so bloody long and cumbersome to carry. Decent rifle though and not a much to go wrong. I always liked the old LSW with its slightly longer barrel and built in BiPod, but again for the size of the weapon it was overly heavy.

The new(ish) SharpShooter is a hell of a weapon though, 5.56mm makes it nice and standard for interchangeable mags and rounds, plus it’s lighter and has less recoil.

GPMG great fun but a pig if your the section machine gunner as it’s bloody heavy and carrying spare link rounds added an extra 10kg to your kit and that’s before you add in spare barrels that need changing every 1,000 rounds. 😂

That’s what was ironic about it. I believe ours was fibre up to the cabinet and then COpper from there to the house. At least that’s what was explained to us, weirdly same day we switched to TalkTalk apparently it was full fibre 🙄🤷🏼

More likely someone at Virgin was clueless and looking for an excuse. But now we’re all good 😊
