Random Irritations

Full update then... after 4 hours waiting for RAC, he changed the spark plugs, which got it moving but it was still juddering. Drove to nearby garage where he inspected it and basically the car is toast. Something to do with cylinders, new engine required. Bugger.
Is it a Ford with an ecoboost engine?

Apples latest IOS update. Literally everything is different to how I normally use my phone. I don’t like change 😒
As always YouTube is your friend to understand some of the features on IOS26. There are simple things to turn off is you want to increase battery life. The change hasn’t made any difference to mine.

Obviously some of the new features are more important to some dependent on what you use your phone for.

For me the best new features are on Phone and Messages. You can now use call screening for unknown numbers with a couple of different levels, a game changer if you get spam calls. Also there is a feature that calls you back when you’re on hold with Muzak playing and a human comes on the line. There is also a spam prevention thing on messages too.

When subtitles appear while you're watching the golf, covering important parts of the screen...and every time you turn them off they come back on again....
System reprogrammed with a very large axe and the subtitles have gone on holiday....if they return, the consequences could be terminal.....

Took my wife to a party last night which her mum and sister were also going, it was arranged I would take them to the party but they would get a cab home as it’s totally the opposite direction for me.
At 1 o clock I turn up and the mother in law says you don’t mind taking us home do you?
Which obviously I can’t really say no to. So now I got an extra 45 minute drive,
Get to her house and she says I got something for you, comes back 10 minutes later with a jar of flavour Xmas coffee.
I don’t really want but say oh that’s nice of you thanks, she then says it’s £1.99 you owe me and walks off.

That woman drives me mad

I can hear her listening to Adele full blast downstairs so I think I may have forgotten something.
Talking of Adele, it was my birthday yesterday and my eldest stepdaughter bought me tickets to see a string quartet playing Adele songs. At the wonderful Royal Pavillion's music room in Brighton.

All four were superb violinists and was easy to recognise the songs. My favourite was "Make You Feel My Love". Made me go all funny! 🤣

I suppose it was too much to expect Adele to walk on the stage.😅

But a lovely end to a smashing day! 👍

Had an insurance claim for a cancelled trip rejected because my "trip" was only for one night.

On reading the policy wording of a definition of a "trip", it is clear that the insurance is useless for travel within the UK, if you do not stay in pre-booked accommodation

No, a 2017 Qashqai. Absolutely piece of poo, just had problem after problem with it since we got it 3 years ago. We won't go Nissan again, that's for sure.
I can recomment a Mazda CX5, petrol (2ltr is the most common).
Plenty of space in the boot, nice seating position and ride, the rear doors open rather wide (more than most) and ultimately the petrol engines are so reliable.
