Random Irritations

Although a quick search says it was a Socialist Magazine in 1884... 😁
It was a common phrase used by NUM branch officials in the early 80’s. I think was said as an attempt to forge some kinda brotherhood.

All of which may or may not be true, but all of which is a complete irrelevance to the point he was making…a point that many would choose to avoid accepting the truth of what he believes he sees and hears…but hey - much easier to throw some shade on Neville with a load of ā€˜whatabootery’.

I promised myself that I wouldn’t get involved commenting on such stuff so with much love I’ll now desist.🄰
Not sure what Neville said was strictly true coz last time I looked Missis T had a pair of boobs and no meat and two veg and she agrees with it. As do a lot of her pals. Re flying the flag and creating division. Maybe someone should get a bucket of emulsion and paint over the tails of British airways planes. They have been proudly flying the flag for a few years. In fact if memory serves me right. At one time they were going to pull the plug and Virgin said ā€œ if you do get rid of it, we will stick it on oursā€.
Same with RNLI, They are happy to fly there version of a flag.

Your context is way off though! What Neville is talking about the flag being used for is vastly different from it being the Standard for BA. the clues in the title British Airways whose symbol is the Union Flag emblazoned on the tail of an Aircraft. That’s a far cry from some Tommy Robinson supporting bellend sticking one up a lamppost in Deansgate or Salford quays!

Same goes for the RNLI or any British institution having their national flag of recognition being flown for identification purposes compared to Dave the racist painting a roundabout with the St George Cross (ironically a Turkish knight that never came to InGerLand)

All about context mate and comparing BA, RNLI etc is way off where you need to be when talking about Neville’s comments.

I’m not taking a side on either party here just pointing out you’ve missed your mark with that one!

I cancelled SKY Q this week

Today changing over the leads on the LNB so I can use a Freesat box where the SKY box was in the lounge and finding the LNB on the dish had only two Freesat terminals when from the ground I thought it had 4 . Now lost my sat connection in the bedroom.

Decisions decisions to change the LNB to a standard quad or not?

But surely that’s the point, Neville is suggesting that middle aged white men that are sticking up a flag are the problem. The flag has been raised for years for different reasons and yet Neville now suggests all white middle aged men are Tommy Robinson supporters and that’s simply not the case. Am sure part of the uproar is that people are bogged off at being related to Tommy Robinson. People have raised the flag for many generations before Tommy Robinson and BA came along.

Yup we cancelled Sky a month ago. Don’t get me started on Skys cancellation policy. Anyway we had an Ethernet cable from the CCTV box to the Sky box. Now the Ethernet cable won’t work from EE To CCTV so we have to have a USB WI-FI dongle from the CCTV box.
Ironically the first dongle was delivered to someone else’s house. šŸ˜–

Have also cancelled Sky with end date early Nov when will use Now Tv for sport and apps for other viewing
Spent 45 minutes trying to close the account. Sky said ā€œ we need 35 days notice ā€œ and we gave them 34 days. MissisT has the original contract signed 22 years ago stating 30 days notice to be given.

No he didn't. It was more like saying middle-aged white men who are Tommy supporters are the ones putting up the flags everywhere recently - which is broadly correct. That is not the same as saying all middle-aged white men are Tommy supporters. That would be a huge leap that you are making.

It was in Hid name also and took about 20 mins on the phone ,he did try to offer a lower price but still not low enough and on principle we've binned it now ..If we don't get on Now tv could always go back as a new customer in couple of years time šŸ˜…

If your principles are that high, then may I just add that Now TV are owned by Sky?

You really take a point and miss it by a few miles don’t you. That is not the point he was making and you likening it to BA is so far wide of the mark it’s not on the same continent!

You’ve taken his point and made a leap so huge you could set a new long jump world record! I don’t need to add anything further as I said it all in my original reply to you. It’s about the context as previously mentioned and you’ve missed it by a long shot it’s not comparable and it’s not what Neville was referring to. @Arthur Wedge summed it up, it’s big difference between patriotism and nationalism that’s where you’re way off and BA /RNLI use of a flag is neither of those things either so using them in your analogy really doesn’t work! Just to confirm BA symbol is the British Flag and was long before this guff was spouted, RNLI symbol is the Flag and there legally required to fly their colours to show who they are in international waters as all ships are.

Massively different from what you’re trying to claim. On that note there’s nothing more to say if you cannot see or discern the difference there’s nothing anyone can do to show you!

I’d love to know these patriots are actually doing to contribute to the country or their local community. Or is being lucky enough to have been born here enough?

Don’t come at me with working and paying tax. I’d be surprised if more than a very small percentage of them are net positive contributors the countries finances.

Totally agree. In future migrants will be required to have a job, speak good English and contribute/volunteer in the community. Will rule out many of the 'patriots' if they had to conform to the same rules.

But why even suggest it. How does he know. It is ignorance at the very least. It’s no huge a leap than neville opening his cakehole in the first place.

What? He was talking about flags that had been hung around properties that he owns, I believe, and stating why he was taking them down.

Fpr a start, they are contributing to the Chinese economy with all those cheap flags everywhere. :)
