Random Irritations

Some of the singers voices at Glastonbury, wow shocking. I thought you needed a reasonably good voice to get noticed and subsequently signed by a record label 😳
Alanis Morissette was amazing Friday.
The annoyance is the BBC (covering the whole event..apparently) only showing 20 mins on iplayer that couldnt keep up with it and kept freezing.

I think you can get away with being a half decent singer,if you have stage presence & can entertain.
Liam Gallagher is arguably the biggest front man of his generation.
My old man says he can’t sing for 💩 😂
I think he’s class 🤷‍♂️

Chelsea v Benfica last night,

Referee taking them off the pitch 4 minutes before the end of the 2nd half.

Surely weather radars are good enough to say 4 minutes is OK.

The good side was getting to see the second half of the Neil Young Glasto set.
I believe its the law.

Open air sporting events have to be suspended if there is a lightning strike within 10 miles of the venue...the delay is a fixed 30 minutes, but gets reset if there is another strike.

Yeah right! We had the hottest June day on record yesterday. It started with a 4… poor aircon is squealing

With every passing year the decision I made about 4 years ago to get air con is becoming less of a luxury purchase to more of a shrewd purchase before costs went even higher.

In the summer only the toilets and the spare room get too hot. The rest of the house is perfect

We were asked if my daughter could help one of her gym coaches on a coaching course, 9-5 today - I was up early and organised not only for her to do a full days gym in the heat, but also myself with a plan for golf, lunch, golf and the F1 with a bit of work thrown in.

We turned up at gym, only to be told it was at another gym 30 mins away , no problem I’ll just do the F1/work part from the golf club, I had just finishing some chipping and was walking to get some lunch when she called to say they’d finished and could I collect her, 4.5hrs ahead of schedule! Good job I couldn’t find a PP otherwise I’d likely have been mid-round, I ended dropping one of the other girls home as her Mum was out at a football comp!

But what about the planet? 🤣

Hell of an aircon system if he’s cooling the planet

Bravo. I like that one 🤣

Thought I'd add aswell something I forgot that in the winter I use the heating side of it to reduce the gas usage which is a good impact aswell

There's no such thing.
Everything has an impact.

Whilst technically correct the gas is only impacting when leaking from the unit which is why they have been serviced every year to prevent leaks and ensure they are sound.

They are much less environmentally impacting than my gas boiler is which it's halved the work load in the winter and in the summer the sun provides the power which is a main impact with air conditioning is the power consumption.

So they are net zero.

What is it you say about people and false information on the other thread?
An air con/refridgeration circuit doesnt need servicng other than to make sure the condenser is clean. The refridgeration circuit is mechanically and /or soldered sealed.
The refridgerant used now may not be as hameful as the older R12/R22, but it still has a damaging effect albeit a less damaging than before.
The legislation for allowing release of refridgerant into the atmosphere was £20k fine and 5 years inside. Its harm cannot be "net zero".

Whilst this is true.. much like the EV fire debate it only matters if it happens

If the refrigerate stays inside the unit it's perfectly safe and doesn't have an impact..only if it leaks or when draining the system it's not replaced correctly.

Which is why when a car air condition gas is replaced the machine has to count the same amount in as out to prove they haven't leaked anything. (Or it hasn't leaked in first place)

Doesn't make my statement incorrect, it's net zero because in the state it's in and how it is used it has a net zero impact on the planet. The electric used to power it comes from solar panels which is green energy. In the winter it replaces burning gas in the boiler for the less colder months so really reduces the gas usage. We are a 4 bed house with 5 people and we use just under 11000 kWh of gas a year which is less than a medium usage house with 2-3 bedrooms..combine that with solid walls we should be using 15000-17000 units of gas a year. So yes the way the system is used is net zero.

However if at end of life I let the gas out only then would it become damaging but as I won't be just opening the valves it's not an issue.
