Random Irritations

Since this update the sound on my laptop behaves very weirdly. I have it muted as a rule, just in case I click on anything that makes a noise. But whenever I get a notification on Teams or WhatsApp (web version I use so I don't have to keep checking my phone), the computer unmutes itself! Even when I've gone into settings to mute notifications, it still does it. Not only that, but I set the volume very low (like less than 10) before I mute it, just as a failsafe, and when it unmutes itself it jumps to 20-something volume. What the hell? Anyone had this and know how to shut it up??

My "naughty" post about POTUS and Kim Jong playing golf was removed along with many other posts. Fair enough, warning had been given.
Reason ,"Tidying up".
I now have a picture in my head of Lord Tyrion hoovering and singing "I want to break free!"

Or doing the "Shake n Vac"
 
Sports Direct. I hate using their online ordering but they were the only ones who had the golf shoes my wife selected. £5 delivery.. and they are too big. They don't do exchanges so it's another £5 postage to return them... and then of course another £5 delivery ordering the correct size. (Except we've decided they can jog on and ordered some slightly different ones from AG instead.)
 
You know those finger plates you can mount behind light switches - just a simple flat square of plastic?
How come they cost more than the actual light switches? It's bonkers!

Shoes are one of those things that I have to try before I buy. Sizing can be all over the place. Even the same brand! Try on a pair of Adidas size 12 trainers. Like a glove. Adidas golf shoes…too small.

Screwfix don't appear to have them. Neither does Toolstation.
Cheapest I've found is Wickes at £2.50 for a pack of two. Amazon are more expensive.
B&Q is £5.60 for two!
But typical price for a single gang light switch is under £1.
Makes no sense that a simple flat piece of plastic costs more than one with a switch in it.

Yeah we really should have ordered two sizes, but then I'd have had to spend a fiver returning the wrong size anyway, so I was gambling on getting the right size... Didn't pay off. 😂
