Random Irritations

You never truly get to know someone until you either live with them or go on holiday together.

I’ve fallen out with more than one friend when I’ve had to spend a week or more in close confines with them. And family holidays can be equally stressful at times.

I have been away with family on Holiday and it’s not been the holiday I would have had if it had just been me and Missis T.
I have been away with friends and seen them in a different light.
Am sure both family and friends could say the same about me and Missis T.

Went on holiday with the wife's family for a big birthday and I am surprised we are still talking. Just simple things to start with, we need to stock up the villa with food and booze, everyone chuck in and we will go shopping. Queue the calls of not being able to addord as much as anyone else, do we really need this and that etc despite the fact that every family was putting in the same and part financing their kids, complaints about what was bought despite no offers to come on the shopping etc. When it came to planning, it all had to be familiy stuff and stuff the kids would like and shame on anyone who wanted to go off on their own and do adult stuff. etc. Never felt more like disappearing to the farthest point with a sunlounger, a case of beer and a cheeseboad and asking someone to fetch me when it was all over.

Daughter came round last night and we were showing her the work we’d done in the soon to be living room.
She then proceeded to shoot down our plans and come up with other ideas which would mean a lot more work. The missus was totally on her side so it looks like I’ve been stitched up. I told the daughter never to come round again 🤣
 
I'm amazed when people say they went on holiday with friends and "saw them in a new light" or similar. How good a friend are they?

Me, when I go on holiday with my friends, I've known them long enough and well enough to know exactly the lunacy that I have signed up to when I agreed to go!

I've been on many golfing holidays with up to 30 guys and never had an angry word or fallout.
But after 2 days of a week's holiday along with my wife's 2 sisters and their husbands, only us 3 men were left speaking to each other.
The 3 sisters fell out with each other, and 3 couples also fell out with each other. 🤣
 
My wifes friends never ending pre-wedding celebrations...

Also.. who needs a wedding rehearsal for a civil ceremony?

I do enjoy people watching on holiday and chuckle at the number of people who go away as a family who really don’t want to be there.

There is usually one parent who is the one in charge and dictates to everyone else what they are doing. One can usually spot the sim/daughter in law as they look miserable.

I would hate to spend my holiday having someone else dictate what and when we do things. I did twice as the in laws were paying. But there is a price to pay for selling your soul.

I've said to the wife next time (after Disney with my parents because we owe them because of grandparents wars ..... ) then we going on our own

I'd rather have 3 kids away with us not 4 at least ours listen a bit

Plus when your sharing a bed with one the twins at night and they go sleep at 10 it gets boring lol need something to do

Plus like you say it's bloody good entertainment..

I'm off to get lunch ATM .. forbidden tray in bag to do the run for the girls .. let's see if I get told off today for having the tray aha 😄

Sent her away with her mum and our eldest

I worked and played golf

I'm not a fan of holidays. Even when it was just me and my wife she'd want to go and do stuff that I can't be arsed with. All inclusive just eat and drink is fine by me but she isn't satisfied with that. I just use 90% of my annual leave days playing golf through the summer.

Right next time just come with my lot. We can hit some golf and the wife's can look after the kids lol 🤣🤣

No in-laws. (Unfortunately, the fil ruins it. Mother in law is brilliant and fantastic women she just comes with baggage)
