Professional Golf

Phoenix Open if I remember rightly. His stats are a joke something like every 1 in 2 events is a top 10 finish, he wins 13% of the events he enters and has made 70 consecutive cuts.

But yeah flat track bully. He is showing no signs of letting up.

I checked a few west coast events and he’s still a t10 contending for the win machine on bent grass/poa annua so it’s a interesting take that he’s a flat track Bermuda bully

There’s a big difference though between a man being able to choose his tournaments because he’s earned the right to than a man paid millions to rock and play smaller fields on easier course set ups.

Scheffler record in majors is also better than Rahms since 2020. Rahms is still decent but using him as an example
Trying to make Scheffler look like a flat track bully is poor as the same argument can be lauded at Rahm.

Why not just accept the fact Scottie is far and away the best in the world right now. Not everything has to be negative toward either tour!

I do, but he's not as good as some people portray him as, and is some way short of Tiger in terms of capabilities.

Its unusual for Mel to make a statement or give an opinion with being able to substantiate his claim, then start to deflect or get into whataboutary 🤣.

Recent evidence would suggest Rham can beat a poor limited field on a resort course, but struggles against a higher calibre field on a proper course. However, last year he couldn’t even do the first thing.

I have absolutely no issue with you trolling me mate, but it can start to clutter up worthwhile discussions.

Doesn’t the results show how good someone is

He is prob the best golfer playing at the moment and consistently shows that

He has every chance of getting the career grand slam this year

No one will get close Woods level ( at his best )

Why does he need to be compared to tiger just enjoy it for why he is the best in the world right now.

Woods was a generational Talent like Nicklaus before him. Scottie is a world class golfer head and shoulders above everyone else at the moment that’s all that matters. It was you trying to pigeon hole him unfortunately for you the facts don’t match your opinion. Maybe time to move on 🤙

Worthwhile discussion? You cannot be serious!

Nobody has claimed Scheffler is as good as Tiger. He’s nowhere near.
You made a ridiculous claim, then tried to shoehorn some LIV discussion in. Everyone has seen straight through that.

Scottie hasn’t had his A game for a while and has just finished 2nd by a shot at the Masters and lost a signature event in a playoff. On two completely different styles of golf course.

Maybe stick to posting other peoples opinions.

Harvey Pennick wrote, "The Lord waits until the end to judge, and so should you."

I smile at discussions of who was the greatest, as even hard measures such as, "Majors won" are a function of who else was around at the time. ;) That said in the absence of anything better, that might be the best we're left with. You can't compare times with a high degree of certainty, but that doesn't stop people doing it!(and it's an interesting chat) I prefer to think who I'd get on a plane to go and watch! Scheffler isn't one of those, Tiger and Jack were!

Tiger was easily going past Jack's total of 18, until his health failed. Or was he? We'll never know for sure. If we were having this discussion 10 years ago, Jordan Speith seemed unstoppable, not now/ Two years ago folk were on here saying Rory will never win the Masters, now he has two, Scheffler is going very well at the moment with what looks to be his B Game.

Anyone's guess how many Majors the current crop will end up with. Jack looks safe for now.... but you never know.

So there's never any discussion in the media about Scheffler being better than Tiger then? It's died down now but last year it was rife. Of course he isn't at the moment, and for the reasons I've stated I don't think he ever will be.

Absolutely no need for that last line. Poor form.

So how does any of that make him the flat track bully you claimed he is 🤷‍♂️

Go and quote my post please Phil. 👍
Do you mean this one where you called him a flat track bully ?
It's my view that Scheffler is a flat track bully, in the sense that he can dominate events where the conditions match his strengths, but Fitz likes Harbour Town and with that wind blowing yesterday it would have felt right at home having grown up playing golf around the hills of Sheffield and Yorkshire - when Scottie out drove him Matt had the perfect opportunity to put Schefflers nuts in a vice, which he duly did with that 4 iron.

Good win for Rahm and Legion XIII then in Mexico as well - lots of young talent near the top of the leaderboard who will hopefully see the OWGR points make an impact on their rankings.

Vamos Sithi.

So which of the 4 majors was on a flat track ?

I genuinely can't believe some of you have spent all day trying to prove me wrong, and when entire statement is placed infront of you, it's a perfectly fair opinion to hold.

Shame, it was a great win for Fitzy, and we should have been focussed on that.

Well it would be interesting to see what makes him a flat track bully when he has won 4 majors on 3 types of golf courses and won multiple other events on different courses in different conditions

None of that sits in with the known phrase of flat track billy

“A "flat-track bully" is a sports term for a player or team that dominates inferior opponents or performs exceptionally well on easy, high-scoring surfaces ("flat tracks") but struggles against high-quality opponents or difficult conditions.”

Is that really what you see Scheffler as

Everyone was more focussed on Fitzpatrick until you made your statement
