From my very limited experience, some are and some not so much

The rookies and those who believe they're climbing, in contention etc definitely put more time into their pre-round prep. The seasoned pros on the other hand are much more comfortable and know what they need to do & how long it'll take

Club golfer like us joins a new club and expecting a text for his first medal round tee time will be checking his phone every 5 mins
Someone who's been a member for 20years might not look until he wakes up

I think its a bit like the 1st years getting ready for first day of term hours early and the 6th form who know the drill inside out

He's still a professional who no doubt cares about his diet as well as doing a decent length warm-up. How far wrong would he have to get the tee time to not even be out of bed when he's supposed to be teeing off?? And as I mentioned, the caddie must have got it wrong as well somehow otherwise he'd be banging on the door asking him what's going on.

I agree in this case the caddie wouldn't get the official text with the tee time unless the player sent it to him, but you'd think he'd be chasing for that info so he knew when to turn up himself

That's my biggest gripe of the whole set up
There should be 1 captain only, per team
As you've stated, it's protecting their status currently

But....back to last night
Some good stuff played
Some good rounds from players unexpectedly after last weeks shows too

The young kid looks very promising for Legion team
Great striker, goes for just about everything mind

Agree with that. I find it very odd that one team gets to have multiple rotating captains just to protect their egos. Rules should be the same for all, one captain and one only.
 
He got the text that gave him his tee time but misread it.
I guess he told all his team the wrong time so nobody was worried.
It's not the tournament's job to make sure players are there on time so nobody was looking for him.

Certainly one designated playing captain. I've no objection to shared ownership, and Poulter, Westy, Stenson seem to be fully "in" on promoting their brand/team but they have to be more competitive. As the money interest starts to come into the teams, everybody wants success right? Legion XIII have a great combination, one of the very best players in the world in Rahm, Hatton who is a solid player and will always attract interest for varying reasons, Surratt who looks at this stage like he could be a huge prospect, and Keiran Vincent who hits it a country mile. There's something different about all of them, and they represent 3 continents between them - the value of the Majesticks will already be dwarfed by Rahms team.

I'm struggling to buy his excuse. Additionally, all the tee times are published - so nobody in his team thought to check to see what time he was out - this is basic stuff that you'd have covered off if you are supposed to be a professional sportsperson.

Yeah - hard for them to shake the image of being the Old Boy's Club team. Horsfield aside of course, but he's not uprooting any trees either.

Agreed! Considering he hadn't left his hotel room according to the report, he must have misread it as 10:45. Seems impossible to me. Maybe he just had a raging hangover and slept through his alarms!

I guess the likelihood of a misread depends on what font & size you're using on your phone too
 
Folks, this thread was started with the sole intention of discussing events on the course. We are less than two pages in and already we are seeing posts which, deliberately or otherwise, are likely to stir up trouble.

Put this in the other thread by mistake, this will be confusing for a while. Anyway, my thoughts on LIV last night:

I put LIV on for about 30 mins last night when the WM was delayed. After watching a bit of Mayakoba and seeing a better balance between number of shots shown/chat etc I thought last night was back to last years production and it just jumping from shot to shot, so a bit of a negative from me there. The rain in Vegas must have been quite heavy as they also had preferred lies on didnt they?

I also thought the music was much more noticeable, I dont know if it is just mic placement or the engineers playing with the levels for the viewers, but if it is as loud in person as it was on the screen I would hate that. A bit of background music I would be fine with, but this was overpowering.

Anyway, I turned it off and watched the darts instead.

Can I just echo that

This thread is for talking about the golf on the course, players performances, teams, shots hit, course conditions etc.
Predictions of who you might win, your fantasy team etc etc

We want this to be a non toxic place to discuss the golf on Liv Golf , of which there arevsome great players on Liv now

Just goes to show, I thought the balance of shots was far better yesterday - think they were able to have more cameras out.
Agree music was more noticeable, and that will always be horses for courses.

All 4 Rangegoats in the top 7 is pretty impressive, can Bubba Watson roll back the years after surgery ?

Expect Rahm to be ultra aggressive tonight as he has places to make up being 5 shots off the lead.

Cam Smith is lurking if he can keep his driver in play.

My underdog is Thomas Pieters , when he is on, he is a solid player.
