Played yesterday at a local course Tapton Park if anyone knows it or is from S Yorkshire / derbyshire area?

Tough course to be fair! Nice weather made condition a bit easier!

Started off +1 through 3 holes, the 4th is a toughie ended up with a 9 on the card :o

However bogied the next long par 5 and short par 4 6th - thought to myself kinda messed my card up! Then went par par par for a respectable 43 out!

Back 9 WOW! par par birdie bogey eagle bogey bogey par - Stood on 18th level through 8 on the back 9! 18th is S.I 13 so not too hard - nerves took over (i have pared this hole numerous times) Tried to cut it with 3 iron (dog leg right) O.O.B! :(

3 off the tee walked off with a 6! +2 for the back 9! Gutted aint the word!

82 in total +10 but so easily could have been in the high 70's!

Positive points though signs of my low handicap days are coming back slowly! I would like to put this down to 3 nights practise a week recently but carnt help but feel it was just my day!

But all in all the addicted feeling is back just in time for a society match in sept against another society at belton woods! BRING IT ON! I deffo feel i will contribute 2 points in the pairs and singles! to Derbyshire team score!

Moral of the story i have fell back in love with the game :D :D

That is a good score round there. I am from Chesterfield and have played in many times without success!!! I always find it a tough slog at Tapton. Nice course though and for the price you can't argue

I'd like to say the practice is paying off but if you are anything like me a good range session isn't a guarantee of a good round. I hit it pretty well at the range tonight and was very happy. What happens at 8.20 tomorrow with the 5 wood in my hand is anyones guess.

Yes the practice is paying off but it's also possibly a little bit pyschological. I tend to play better when I think I've already blown my round. Keep at it and I look for hearing about consistent rounds in the low 80's. Well played, keep at it.
