Any chance of making it a bit more difficult to accidentally click on the header advert? This is a real problem if you are using a mobile phone or tablet computer with a touch screen!

Totally agree, using an iPad I reckon I look at Adidad trainers 20 times a day!
have you switched to mobile view - takes out the big billboard ads
scroll down bottom left of screen - in grey bar - Golf Monthly 2014-10 - select mobile option in the drop down

It's not the adverts that are the issue. It is the fact they are pop ups which are very easy to open, especially when using a touchscreen device.
I don't use the mobile format as it doesn't have a 'new posts' facility...

There does come a point when the ads, and the method of highlighting them, becomes more annoying hassle than it's worth!
That happened some time ago for me, so Adblock was turned on! Peace again!!!
I have but there's always a large advert about 3 posts down on any topic which fills my screen and its incredible difficult to swipe down to the next post on a touch screen without activating the advert, surely the advertisers would want more correct feedback of hit rates to work with rather than accidental hits?
