And why?

Just for clarification I've included woodland as a category to act as differentiation from open parkland courses. There is also an other option - please specify what type of course if you choose this.

Was going to go "Other" and put "Crazy" but decided not to ruin the poll ;)

Thinking back to summers on the Irish coast there is little that could surpass a day on the wild links.

Links everyday of the week for me. I enjoy the challenge especially when the wind gets up there's no escape.

For looks, links, very nice to look at but I hate wind and for how high I hit the ball my game really doesn't suit the courses, voted for parkland as I love playing down tight fairways, where it's you vs the course not the weather as much

Links for me as it's predominantly what I grew up playing. I like the turf, the sand in the bunkers, the exposure, the views, the noise and smell of the sea. There something very satisfying about clipping a nice shot off links turf...
I understand where bobmac is coming from though, sometimes a beautifully hit shot isn't rewarded in links golf which can be frustrating but that isn't just restricted to links golf.

Love heathland golf especially when the gorse and heather are in full effect. Trying to hit the ball out of it though is another matter and puts a premium on finding the short stuff every bit as much as links or woodland courses

I think they can all be great but Links wins it for me.
I just love those tight spinny lies and awesome greens.
I don't love them when I try to hit a stinger 4 iron under the wind and it balloons into the air and carries about 100 yards though.

Tough one, I need a woodlinks option! My course is woodland but plays very linksy, with the tight lies and unpredictable bounces you would expect, and quite exposed in places which makes it interesting when the wind gets up. But theres also plenty of trees, particularly around the boundaries of the course, ready to swallow an off target shot.

Links - it's such a change from the home course and there are some great links courses out there.

Grew up within 20 miles of some of the greatest links tracks in the north west, but only took up the game when down in the Thames Valley! I usually head for a links course when on vacation, which is another plus :-)

Links, closely followed by heathland.

If I was going to play the same course four days in a row it would have to be a links, probably the Old Course or Carnoustie. Each day the course would probably play differently. If I just had one round to play on a glorious summers evening it would be be a heathland, probably Sunningdale or The Berkshire.

Whatever Woodhall Spa is. Its my favourite course, so I guess that makes it my favourite type of course.
Heathland then Brian. You need to get down to my area, and play the likes of, Liphook, Hankley, Sunningdale, Walton Heath The Berkshire, Swinley, Hindhead, Woking, Worplesdon, West Hill, St Georges Hill., etc Similar courses to Woodhall but without the deep bunkers.:)
