Links for me. It's from when I was a kid and I was introduced to golf by my granddad in Southport. My first memories of golf are from there so those are the courses I always associated with "true" golf.

I voted for Links but I'm happy with anything on the same sort of well draining sandy soil eg Royal Worlington etc.

I'm not averse to trees, just courses that could be put to better use as paddy fields. Being sprayed in the face with mud every time that use hit a wedge is not my idea of fun.

I play parkland but prefer heathland such as Blackmoor, West Hill and the like, and that's even with Royal St Georges, cinque Ports, Princes etc all close by I don't enjoy links much

very close decision between links and woodland. voted for links because every time i get the opportunity to play a links i seize the opportunity. my homecourse is a woodland/heathland mix

Always really torn on this one. Love links golf, love the challenge, love the changing conditions, the fast fairways and greens, the tight turf and the effect even a light breeze can have....but.....
A rolling parkland course with countryside, trees, great views is just such a nicer place to be. If it came down to a straight choice for pure enjoyment I would go parkland.....just.

I did put other -

any course that can balance good condition with the feeling of seclusion is 'my favorite'; I have no inherent preference beyond that.

Personally prefer woodland tracks like Woburn, because of the tranquillity of each hole being secluded from one another, compared to parkland and links golf where holes often run alongside each another.

I posted above before reading this - you can also get a feeling of seclusion on many links courses; but it can be taken away when they are busy!

Links for me - because it's different time! Closely followed by Heathland, because it's almost always a nice place to be!

But I'll play anywhere!

Heathland followed closely with links although that might change after the Scotland road trip in two weeks time.

My home course is Parkland and have been used to that for a good few years , however I have just played southerness near dumfries and have to say I loved it!

the challenge and the way you had to choose your clubs carefully was great fun, even for a bobbins highandicapper like me
