ping s56 irons look lush!

I have indeed. Picked mine up last week, with KBS shafts.

Lovely clubs, and yes, even a 24 handicap can hit them; they are more forgiving than you would think.

I'll tell you what, I'm a Mizuno man myself and don't usually get over excited about shiny new clubs. But these Pings are things of beauty. :D

I could easily be tempted. :D

Golfmmad.

Before I start. I have a G10 3 wood!!

I understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But geesh! All you old Ping users must be short-sighted as well.

They're okay for a set of Pings. At least they've got ferrules between the head and shaft. To use an analagy. They might win the pagent beauty queen of hicksville, but Miss World they ain't.

Not that any of it matters. It's the golfer and not the golf club that really matters. Hope you guys that are getting them get on well with them.

;) ;) :p :p

I thought ping had a little bit of a stigma attached to it?

What is the deal with that anyway. I only started playing this year but used to caddy as a kid when you could get the ping two tone balls and I always liked the look of the clubs, bags etc. When I decided to start playing a friend gave me an old anser putter and an i3 3 wood (which has since broke), and i've just bought a 4under stand bag and i'm thinking of getting some i3 or i5 irons. I've been coming on this forum a couple of months and read quite a few comments about ping users. I'm 30 by the way so according to some i'm probably not quite old enough to be using pings but I like them, and that's good enough for me, just wondering where the stigma comes from.

Its meant mostly in good humour except for our resident geriatric bed wetter Smiffy (him of the white trousers and faint pee odour) who uses them out of necessity.

Actually they are really good clubs and the I15 and S56 are two excellent sets and I have to be honest and say if I was in the market for new sticks they would be my first port of call followed by Mizuno and the TM R9 TP's

Just ignore these stupid jealous people who have an issue with the genius of the Karsten Solheim.

Did I mention that I'm selling an excellent set of Ping I10'S 3-PW + GW???? ;)

Craw,mate..... thats Morgan Freemans 'ol man :D :D :D :D

It's funny how we end up in these 'camps'. I doubt if any of the main manufacters make a bad club these days, it just depends on what suits our eyes, game and pocket.

I so nearly bought a set of G5 irons when I restarted this game, but they were out of my budget, and consequently went with the next best thing, the Mizuno MX19's. So one could argue that I should have been a Ping man. Though I did re-test Ping and some other brands earlier this year before getting my..........yep........Mizuno MX300's.

When I watch someone else play, I'm more interested in how they play, than what's in their bag, though it does interest me. But in all honesty I wouldn't judge someone because they were playing brand 'x' and not brand 'y'. My previous post was obviously very tongue-in-cheek. As I'm sure a lot of the ribbing is on here.

God they look nice!!

Ye Bubba has been fitted for a set this week. I tryed to find the video but i cant. He said he wanted to wait till the end of the year to try them as he was playing well as he was. He is not going to change to them.

Just picked up mine from my club :D :D

Not going to put them into play until after the final comp on Saturday.

Hit 50 balls with them on the range after 9 holes with my G10's and am soooo tempted to use them on Saturday.

But need to be sensible. I'm top of the OOM, but only by 5 points. So need to put in a good round.

Hopefully if the other half is in a good mood she'll let me play Sunday as well and I can't take them out for a knock. :)

Interesting Thread......

Looking at all the replies it seems that the S56's cater for a range of handicaps outside of the players that there supposed to geared at judging from peoples Sig's .....

Nice clubs, good luck with them - AFTER the OOM.

I probably don't need to tell you this - but just in case.

My mate was in the same situation as you in the OOM 2 years ago, with 5 points between him and 2nd place. He just played his own usual steady game. Whereas the other guy kept asking during his round, how my mate was doing.
Needless to say, you can probably guess the outcome. :)
