ping i200's

Just seen them in the flesh for the 1st time today
Not chunky at all address
Quite a generous cavity when looking from behind, when in hand
So I'd presume still decent level of forgiveness

well...I have a set on Order after a fitting today! 4-U Modus shafts seemed to be best for me. AWT too high, KBS hated the feel, real clicky, Modus was real nice, first time I have ever tried that shaft. Distance was only 3 or so yards longer than my current iron (RSI TP), but that is due to the 1 degree stronger lofts I assume. The dispersion was so good though.

Also going to get a couple of Glide 2 wedges, 54 SS & 58 ES. First time I use them will be at Royal Porthcawl on the 21st....Baptism of fire!

Can I ask the price... and a knock on the practice tee at Porthcawl? :D Assuming I don't already have a set in the bag by then!

LOL - I have a lot of credit in the pro shop and pro always does a good deal

Figured it will be the best part of a grand, so anything under is a bonus - I will update when I know the price.

Promised myself a set of these once I get my handicap down to 3 (as a reward). Think of going split set, PW-7 in iBlades, then 6-3 in i200's.
Season can't come quick enough so I can my handicap moving!

Not that I'm interested in changing irons but these look nice to me but then I like the look of most of Pings non-shovel irons though.

The iBlades and these would be top of my list if I was in the market I think.

hit probably 300 balls last night with the 6 iron and pitching wedge looking for a reason to buy them as my wife said i could have them for my birthday. i currently play ie1's. they look identical at address and trackman stats where identitical in every way.

going to spend the money on fishing gear instead. nice clubs. infact, very nice clubs but if I was in the market then I'd grab some i25's or I E1 irons and save a fair few quid

I'm paying £750 for 4-U (£93.75 per club) & £100 each for the 2 Glide 2 wedges.

Was fitted on outdoor range with flight scope and when they arrive will do gapping and test with all clubs and tweak if/where required which is all part of the service from our Pro.

Had a 7 iron in my hand on Saturday, very, very nice looking club. Compared it side by side with a G, loft not quite as cranked as the G, slightly shorter but wider head, does not look chunky at all. Will be going for a fitting next month with a serious view to buy if they perform better than my current clubs.

Had a look in our Pro Shop on Sunday... look a lot like more like my i25s than I was expecting. No price mentioned.

I will have a test in the next couple of weeks to see how performance compares before making decision.... and while the pro has the Trackman etc out of the box, I need him to check my driver shaft too!!

A local pro, Ping stockist, isn't impressed with them. To quote, "there's cheaper, better alternatives out there. The S-series are really good but these don't cut it for me."

He didn't actually say don't buy them, I was interested, but he did suggest I try x,y,z first.

I hit the TM M2 with graphite shafts, felt very nice.

Two out of the three pro's at our gaff are both very impressed with them and have both already ordered a set each. Like anything, it will always be down to personal opinion.

I was discussing the price with the head pro on Saturday, saying I thought £800+ was a bit steep, he said that was probably retail and they should come in a bit cheaper.

I had a quick hit with them last week whilst in for a driver fitting. Felt really nice to me, definitely preferred the feel to my AP1's

Got a fitting tomorrow night, choice is down to them or the JPX900 Forged.

I saw them on Saturday and thought they were lovely but I agree for the price you could get a really good quality set of forged irons for cheaper.

So im reading about the i200s and their "innovative new activated elastomer insert" and think, boy that sounds damn impressive, I think I needs me some elastomer insert.

So off I go to find out what elastomer is..."the term, which is derived from elastic and polymer, is often used interchangeably with the term rubber".....

"rubber insert" just doesn't have the same ring to it!!
