Whilst playing today one of my playing partners managed a tee shot that had us in stitches.

6th tee, short par 4 so he takes a hybrid off the tee. The contact is less than good and the ball heads for the trees on the right. It hits one of the pine trees about 30ft up and heads straight back towards the tee, bounces off the path and ends up about 2 inches behind where it started from a few seconds earlier. This smiley is almost exactly what happened :fore: :)

He ended up dropping a shot but only because he took 2 to get out of the fairway bunker that his second shot from the teeing area ended up in!

What amazing shots have you made or seen?

I smashed a drive into the sun with a beautiful follow through finish and asked the guys if they could see it, only to see thay were laughing. I'd teed it up too high and took the peg away leaving the ball at my feet! Thay all struggled to get their own drives away after that one.

I was playing with a guy who drove a par 3 over a lake, hit the top of a pine on the left side of the green, rolled down a branch, landed on the lip of a greenside bunker, rolled around the lip, onto the green, right across the green and in for a hole-in-one.

This from a threada couple of years ago........

4 of us turned up a club in Oxfordshire to play a social round. As we walked to the 1st tee there were 2 ladies just about to play. They insisted that we played first as they would probably hold us up so we got going. The first 3 of us tee'd of no problem and then came JR - an ex-army sergeant with the power of 3 bulls. He'd just got the brand new Mizuno T-Zoid Driver (shows you how long ago it was!) and he was aching to let rip.

As he addressed the ball I thought to myself that he'd tee'd the ball up awfully high but before I had time to do anything he'd taken an almighty swish. His finish pose was classic - the ball went 20 yards in the air and landed down the cleavage of one of the women who had positioned themselves 10 yards behind us.

I was on my knees and to say we just wet ourselves laughing is the understatement of the century - even the Secretary came out to see what all the noise was about.

JR went the kind on red normally associated with the Special K models dresses and was very quiet once we managed to pull ourselves together.

And I think the lady had her eye on him as she asked him if he wanted to get his ball back.........

skipped one off the water and up onto the green for a tap in bird at a very small par 3 at our 9 hole course. complete miss hit !

My best pal's pre-wedding round (the day before the main event). The best man doesn't get on the course much and has honours on the 3rd or 4th (forget which) lets one rip with the driver. mega pull to the left and catches the top of a dry stone wall, from where it bounced and hit a horse. Shouldn't have laughed but by God was it funny.

The next morning we played the same course (a Marriott somewhere or other) and bugger me he did exactly the same thing into the same horse.

Years ago i took my mate for a game. He doesnt really play but it was just to go for a laugh and catch up. On the 2nd hole he hit his tee shot straight into the red ladies tee marker and the ball shot straight past our heads about 15 yards behind us! We're both in stitches at this point and my words were you couldnt do that again if you tried...... on reaching the 18th tee he had started to hit the ball well, until yep you guessed it his tee shot hit the ladies marker but this one really flew... about 50 yards landing on the fringe of the first green!! I had tears of laughter running down my face

We had a young guy in the office who was pretty good and a bit of a jack the lad. On one particular afternoon it was blowing a gale so much so that we almost called the game off.

If I remember rightly is was about the fourth hole with the wind blowing directly at us Ben declared that he'd show us how to hit he ball low and end up on the top of the ridge which can be difficult at the best of times.

He took his 3 wood, put the ball back in his stance and the gave it a mighty thwack. The ball set off on a lovely trajectory and then started to climb, so much so that it did a back flip, carried on climbing and then fell out of the air 10yds in front of us :fore:

The ball must of been in the air for a good 5 seconds and was possibly one of the funniest shots I've seen given Bens coaching tips and superb demonstration of technique.

Best thing I have seen, is me and my friend and his brother went for a friendly round at a local club. We got a tee off time and the group behind us was a big society about 20 people roughly. They were about to tee up and set off early until they realised we was there so they said sorry go for it lads. I tee my ball up hit it down the middleish not too far but good enough, my friends brother done the same. Now onto my mate, hes a leftie, the first tee is by the 18th green about 40 yards to the left, he teed the ball up way too far and likes to really drive it a long way and he was aiming to impress. He then took an almighty swing the ball flies up in the air and lands in the middle of the 18th. He was so embarressed he went and got his ball back and pulled out a 7 iron and quickly walked off. I was in stitches at this point and everytime I go back to this club I just see this shot everytime.
