Got my self a new bag as my motocaddy one got a hole in. I've opted for the titleist stadry cart/trolley bag. It looks nice but once packed it looks messy and im not keen. The old motocaddy bag made sense for where to put clubs. Woods and hybrids on left irons everywhere else. But this I can't decide as on trolley what would be the "correct way" seems awkward. Guess I never knew how much I'd miss a putter well haha.. Just wondering what way do you guys do yours?
Tempted to change again but the wife would hit the roof if I got another bag so soon haha

Had a taylormade Catalina bag when I first started it was just sublime. The cover zip broke after a month and they could not get another so I had to change bags.
not a patch on that Catalina bag.

I've had my eye on this bag in the pro shop! White and blue version. I'll make sure to put it on the trolley with clubs in before I buy!

I like the putter well but with my fat putter grip it doesn't fit anyway!

I have on older BagBoy trolley bag, a hand-me-down from my parents. The colors are a bit faded, so it looks pretty worn, but apart from that there is nothing wrong with it, all the zips are still intact etc., so I see no need to change it. It has a 14way divider, so I have a nice little space for each club (and a spare that holds my alignment sticks, because I'm only carrying 13 clubs at the moment). I have them sorted, longest on top, all the way down to the putter. No extra putter well. I think having one would be comfy, but on he other hand, with the 14 divisions there is no real need for one.

I've got a Sun Mountain H2NO which is similar to the StaDry looking at pictures on't'net.

Have a play around. Part of the fun of a new bag is trying all sorts until you find something you like.

The other good thing about all your longest clubs along the top is that they support the rain hood so the irons are easy to get in and out.

When I went up north everything got a good clean, clubs the lot. When I got to the first tee at Tyneside, everything was upside down. I spent five mins faffing about putting everything "right".

Was looking for a new cart bag a couple of months back. I don't understand why the majority have moved away from external putter wells, and external brolley sleeves, two of the most useful options on a cart bag. Ended up settling on a Powacaddy deluxe bag, as it had the necessary. Would say that the big zip pockets aren't that flexible i.e. the vinyl is a bit stiff. And quite surprised how wet it gets inside the pockets when it rains, thought the vinyl would be more resistant to water..... maybe just the zips?

Call me old and cold hearted but it's a bag. It transports the clubs around and so as long as they are easy to get in and out what's the issue? It's not there to win a Turner prize

From the OP's description of his messy golf bag, it sounds like exactly the kind of thing that might win a Turner prize.

I also like the putter well it just seems the right place for it, I just brought the new 2016 Powakaddy bag and although it has the putter well they have done away with the umbrella holder space and made it external.

I have this bag

Putter at 12 o'clock
Underneath is a single well for driver
The 2 slots under the driver, 3w 3hybrid
2 under again 4 and 5 iron
2 under that, 54, 58
Left side 6, 7, 8
Right side 9, PW, 51

Works for me

Never had a putter well tbh im not a fan . will need new bag soon , have new mocad one in attic , don't like it tho so may sell or do a trade in somewhere ,

So glad to see I'm not the only one with OCD when it comes to club positions in bag. 😃

I currently use the Catalina bag and it's one of the best bags I have owned.
Only thing I don't like about it is the putter well. My putter has been cut down a little and I find it sometimes drops down below the lip of the bag and it's a bugger to get out.
I also misplaced my rain cover shortly after buying it and can't seem to get hold of another one so whenever I play I am hoping and praying that it doesn't lash it down.
But the bag itself is superb.
