Before our new (and only) grand daughter was born we were put on baby sitting duty this evening whilst mum and dad are at a wedding party

Just arrived home with the little darling and she's just woken up

If I never post again it's because I'm frazzled!! If I do, it might be a lot of baby gobledegook! So nothing new there!

Chris, Dont worry about it, mummy and daddy will be on the phone every 2 mins to check she is ok, and if you have her overnight expect very little sleep LOL., Enjoy though as our grandaughter is 2 tomorrow....

2 Hours rob and they havn't phoned and they are due to pick her up at 11.30pm. She's got a bit of a cold but I rocked her off to sleep eventually.

Have a great time for your g/daughters birthday - lovely age 2!

My niece is due to turn 1 at the end of the month. We had her for the first time about a month ago. Poor thing would only fall asleep while you held her. Thankfully she went down alright after a few attempts.
Really don't want kids yet, but I love her to bits and was very happy to hand her back to my brother and his missus.

It's great, isn't it.

We were looking after grandson No 1 two days a week for several months when he was 6 months to a year old. Initially it was so that daughter could go back to work and milk the system for maternity pay as she was pregnant again. Now she has finished work we still look after him at least 1 day a week because a) we want him to grow up with us as part of his life and b) we would miss him if we didn't see him at least once a week.

It's just amazing how something that is so small and can't talk can get you doing exactly what he wants for his own benefit.

Glad HID is happy to do the nappies though (while I keep the other end occupied).

Absolutely knackering, but can hand the little fellow back at the end of the day.

No 2 due end of July. Could become a full time day job. :mmm:

I agree with all you say Roger, I was up yesterday for work 6.15am and finished the babysitting stint at mid night and wouldn't hesitate to do it any day. When she was dropping off to sleep in my arms I felt a real glow.
