Having been an assistant some 22 ish years ago I feel sorry for the lad, he has probably been there since 6am on his own giving out tickets, arranging the starting, answering the phone, cleaning the shop etc etc, basically doing anything other than what he wants to do for a couple of quid!

Send the £20 with a strong letter about the pro's attitude but saying how helpful the assistant pro was as no doubt he would have deducted it from the boy's wages. :(

Eduardo : I understand what you're saying - but the assistant in question is hardly blameless. The Pro has obviously discussed it with him, and the assistant has obviously sworn blind that he told me about the charge, hence the Pro's attitude in sticking up for him.

IF the assistant had admitted he hadnt told me, as he hadnt, then the Pro may have called me 'requesting' the money, and I would have paid.

So, the problem stems from the assistants word anyway.

I wish it didnt, but it does.
