Birchy
Money List Winner
Hi All,
Thanks to MikeH for letting us post this
Im part of this challenge and im posting this on behalf NWJocko who came up with idea of this charity after experiencing first hand how difficult life can be and what families have to go through.
A bit more details on our reasons for doing this from Iain (NWJocko) :-
As you may, or may not, know my older daughter is Autistic. Since her diagnosis about a year ago I have discovered that there is a real lack of awareness about Autism and support for families and/or individuals with Autism to an extent that has amazed and saddened me.
Ever since Eve's diagnosis I have intended to raise money for an Autism Charity so this year Birchy, Qwerty and Junior have volunteered/been roped in to do the Longest Day Challenge with me on 4 courses around the Fylde Coast (St Annes Old Links, Blackpool North Shore, Lytham Green Drive and Fairhaven).
We are raising money for Autism Initiatives (http://www.autisminitiatives.org/) and in particular The Hermitage at the Braid Hills Golf Centre in Edinburgh (http://www.hermitagescotland.co.uk/) which provides support, training and employment to Autistic people through the running of the Golf Course and associated activities undertaken there.
We are aiming to raise £2,000 for this charity therefore if any of you would like to sponsor us (no matter how small the donation) it would be greatly appreciated and the link to the fundraising page is
http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/flatcappers.
There is a problem with the Virgin Money website at the moment whereby pictures can't be added however I'll be adding pictures before, during and after our day.
Birchy is also running some other fundraising activities throughout this year and, again, if you even give us just £1 it will be hugely appreciated by us all.
Thanks to the 3 NW guys for helping me to get this off the ground and also many thanks in advance to anyone who sponsors us.
Please see below link to NW OOM Player auction which is a fundraising activity to help raise funds :-
