Nice guy but dull as dishwater when doing after dinner speaking
He is a two time winner of SPOTY, in 1986 and 1992. However if Andy (Wet weekend in Worthing) Murray could also win it twice, that is not necessarily an indicator of a good personality!

Sorry but how is that relevant to what I posted ?
You said he had a boring personality, "dull as ditchwater when doing after dinner speaking" to quote your exact words. I suppose it depends on what your interests are, but I certainly wouldn't mind having him as an after dinner speaker!

But what does winning the SPOTY have to do with him being dull as an after dinner speaker ? Even the F1 found him dull - just as Hamilton seems dull where as drivers like Webber and Riccardo appear the opposite.

I really love the fact that its considered an impediment to have a "dull personality", surely its how they perform at their chosen sport that's important and not how they sound at interviews that really matters.
