golfbase is the same company as golfshoes direct, and i couldnt approve of this seller enough, in 2010 i had some fj sports off them that split after a month on the front, phoned them up " some people have experienced this " they were totally honest, had them collected and exchanged for a new set within 72 hours... a great company.

Check out golfshoesdirect.co.uk, its their ebay store and may be a touch cheaper ;)

Have a look at the Ping Torsion model - they are waterproof, breathable and look like trousers, rather than waterproof over trousers - about 65quid
Only issue is you've got to be blind to wear them.

Ping Volt trousers are amazing. I've got two pairs, nice and lightweight but still warm and water-resistant. FJ dryjoy tours are very very good too, but they are best part of £100.

Ive got a pair of underarmour coldgear trousers and they are super comfy , they are meant to be wind and shower proof.
I dont mind wearing baselayer leggings and waterproof trousers either and if you get good quality gear they should be breathable preventing you getting sweaty nads !

Can't beat a nice pair of corduroys for the winter months. Nice and snug. Just don't get them with turn ups or you will look really old fashioned. Nice pair of black or navy cords with a black jumper and white roll neck. Very Cooden.

You can't beat Galvin Green waterproofs, they are expensive, but you pay for what you get and they are awesome. They have 2 pairs around the £160 mark, Alf and August, the Alf being thicker than the August therefore slightly warmer. I wear these all winter with Under Armour or Galvin Green thermals and you can't beat them.

The problem with the cheaper ones that say they are water proof and breathable, is they tend to be neither. You sweat buckets in them because they aren't breathable and they are not 100% waterproof, so not only do you get wet cos you sweat, you get wet when in rains cos there're not waterproof!. The Galvin's are made from Gortex so they are 100% waterproof and highly breathable. Team these with a decent base layer and you just cant go wrong!

I'm not on commission, I just really rate them....

Already got some.

But its not waterproofs that I'm after. Its "regular" trousers that are water resistant if not actually waterproof. When its damp out, your ordinary trouser soaks up the water to about half way to your knee. (Bear in mind, I spend a lot of time in the longer grass). Can combat this by wearing LJs and waterproofs but you get too hot.

Found some more Nike all-weather ones at Golfbuyitonline (who seemed to get some good reviews on here not long since). Will see what they're like when they arrive
