New, new clubs or new old clubs?

my whole bag is 2nd hand :)

an example - my razr 3 wood, mint, 36 quid

I would never pay for brand new until I get down to low teens then I would probably look at getting custom fit. Until then 2nd hand will do me just fine :)

Pretty much the same here.

I refreshed my whole bag over the last 12 months, offloading my old Maxfli Revolution irons which were in a terrible state (mainly due to them being constructed from soft cheese) Apart from my Odyssey putter which was no longer required by my Dad, I have bought everything from the 'Bay

Ping I3 O-Size 4-SW £125
MD Norman Drew 60 degree wedge £40
Callaway 454 Driver £21
Callaway Great Big Bertha 3 £25
Wilson 21" Hybrid £19

2nd hand is the way to go ;)

Th v-steel is a cracking club , a guy I play with regularly has one and he is off 3. I doubt you will notice much of a difference between that and the Titleist 909. I use a TM Burner 2009 model and have yet found anything else that matches it.

There are some clubs that I just cant get along with like the vsteel.
I tried my dads burner 3 wood which is not as fat, I mean its face isnt as deep and the club head is slightly wider, its great, but couldnt find one on ebay for cheep.
Also tried the white Taylormade drivers when they cam out, looking to upgrade mine at the time, but just coulnd get on with it.
Theys say its all physiological, suppose its true.

Hopefully I'll get the new one by the weekend, and it will give me that confidence boost I need for the long deck shots.

Nothing wrong with 2nd hand clubs if they suit your needs.

I bought mine new but that doesn't mean they're any better.

Only my opinion, but I wouldn't recommend a 909F to a 20hc. About the same forgiveness as a 1 iron.

Whats wrong with the 909? Looks like a decent club, and theres loads of reviews about it online.
just buying online you dont get the chance of hitting a few test shots I suppose!
Can always sell it if it does suit? Just not on here coz everyone now knows how much I paid for it!!!😊

I'd definitely say buying 2nd hand is almost as good as buying new. My driver, 2 rescues and putter are all 2nd hand and they perform just as good as my new irons and new wedges comparatively do. So I'd say save yourself some money if I was you!

Nothing wrong with it, it's a very good club. I just think there are easier clubs to hit consistently well.

As you say, you could always sell it on if it doesn't suit you.

I was going to post similar last night but got sidetracked.
909 was never an easy club to hit - there are much more forgiving clubs out there.
Having said that, if it works then it's a bargain.....

Titleist 909 great club. Used it today and only duffed 1 shot, all others went mile. Anyone want a TM V-Steel???😊
