New HDID App

Have downloaded it but it says it couldn't find my email address as a member of any club. It worked fine with the previous version of the app. the other guys who tried it got the same error.

Presumably the club needs to do something to activate it?

Downloaded it, and it looks fine. 2 issues though. The Casual Golf booking is a bit hit and miss. Sometimes it takes me through ok, but sometimes it times out and a screen comes up saying my club does not have this facility. Hopefully just teething troubles. Maybe volume of use on Day 1.
My other gripe is that the app was advertised as having the facility to book Open Comps at other clubs, but I don't think that option is there yet.

Presumably the 'Open' club must have HDID. But many simply use Golf Genius to run those comps

Managed to get it working.

Looks good, apart from tee booking which doesn't work. Is that because we use BRS for that, or is this meant to replace BRS as well?

We use BRS and it's the same for us

In other news...I'm now up to 19 notifications from the kit hen...starting to feel a bit full....:ROFLMAO:

I've also just had 4 notifications come through..
A £25 credit to my card and 3 spends of £2.50, £7.36 and £8.80........but my balance hasn't changed....
And I haven't been there this year yet....
Teething problems methinks........
So don't mention the credit but complain about the spends (y)

Looks like it’s going to be March/April for IG to use the APP

Also good that it’s the same cost as the IG App if you want basic one

Anyones club gone for the club tailored one and is it worth the extra £1k

Update from my club..The notification issue is sorted but it seems many members are struggling to get access to the app.
This seems quite a common issue around the socials...
More than a bit disappointing....an app that's launched should be ready..this obviously isn't....

Just received a notification from my club. We are ditching HDiD altogether and going with Golf Genius and BRS.

We already have BRS for casual booking but used HDiD for comp bookings. No idea if Club V1 will still be used for card since that’s integrated into HDiD.

You will no longer be using ClubV1.
Most things will run through BRS, with Golf Genius for comps & handicaps.

App downloaded. Didn't link me to my club initially but got that sorted. I've had a little play around.

We still have to book via BRS, not this app. We can't top up our bar card or make payments relating to our fees, although they are clearly shown. Without those, it isn't really doing anything for me. Big fanfare, the balloon is deflating. I think I expected it to cover everything, it doesn't.

Most of the bugs seem to have been fixed....BRS is available and is in the same format.
The only thing it doesn't do right now is auto-rotate from Portrait to Landscape for use on a tablet.

Yeah, that’s what I thought. I wonder what they are going to do for the club card instead. Not that it concerns me that much, I’ll be going back to my old club in April anyway.

We have done the same ( BRS and Golf Genius) and when we complete the transition, we will not use ClubV1, but we are continuing to run ClubV1 for membership management and Club Card until this year’s subscription round is complete.

For those involved at clubs, @NearHull you are certainly eminently qualified for this, is there a reason that clubs will keep running HDID and BRS? Is there a reason it can't all transfer to HDID?

Does BRS simply offer a better booking system?

When I started oversight of tee bookings some 5 years ago, I wondered about this question. I kicked off a small team of ‘knowledgeable’ members to help me look into it as it appeared as if we were double paying for similar software capabilities. I also visited a local club who only used ClubV1 for booking tees and Competition management. We have a good relationship with them and they went out their way to help me understand how they employed it.

The project took several months of discussion and trials during which we found 14 issues/errors in ClubV1 bookings that we considered needed fixing before we would consider using it. We submitted the discovered issues. They fixed one very quickly.

However, ( isn’t there always an ‘however’ ?) the ClubV1 booking didn’t match the way we ran our Saturday Competitions as we use a mix of time periods of mandatory entry and optional entry into the competition. We didn’t have any appetite to change our traditional Saturday competition management. We were also not won over with the issues that we had highlighted and the company’s responses, hence ClubV1 tee booking was not further pursued

That is a very quick summary of a lot of work and doesn’t cover all the points and conclusions, but I really don’t want to start a ClubV1 v BRS argument.
